Guest guest
Hi there everyone, I have another silly question but I know with all our members someone will be able to give me some advise. I spilled candle wax on my sheets last night and I don't know how to get it off. I kind of picked off some of it. I thought I'd seen/read to put ice on it. Didn't work. Anyone have any ideas? Boy am I a klutz! Thank you, Kathleen in NC
Guest guest
I've always frozen wax off stuff... if you can stuff the whole sheet into the freezer =P But, since you already picked it off, try " soaking " the spots with wax with some fabric softener... then wash. - > Hi there everyone, > > I have another silly question but I know with all our members someone will > be able to give me some advise. Guest guest
Try putting a paper towel over, then iron over that. It's supposed to work on carpet, so hopefully it'll work in this case too. > Hi there everyone, > > I have another silly question but I know with all our members someone will > be able to give me some advise. Guest guest
Yes! I do. I did this a few years on light carpeting. ;-P Some spots came out completely and it was a bright red candle! [left pink stains]. You may have to work at it a little while but.. [hope I remember this correctly]: You will need: Iron Paper towels or napkins. Heat an iron on low setting. Place paper towels [must be an absorbant cloth like that but not too thick like with cotton] on the wax. Place iron on paper towel and just iron that booger up! The heat should melt the wax enough to get it to be absorbed into the paper towels or napkins. You may have to do it over and over using fresh napkins. I was just amazed at how well this worked for me! Yes that was good to pick off any big chunks you can first. Let us know. xo li ----- Original Message ----- I have another silly question but I know with all our members someone will be able to give me some advise. Guest guest
But if you use the iron method, it may even get the stain out. ;-) Please try that - it worked so well for me... It also depends on how long the wax has been on there too, and what color wax etc.. of course. xo li ----- Original Message ----- Put it in the freezer if possible. You will get thewax off, but it most likely will still leave a stain(of that color wax) behind no matter what you do....Sorry.
Guest guest
If you put the sheet in the dryer for a couple of minutes, the wax should come right off.
