Guest guest
Hi there, I didn't know that Quinine was on a "no no list". Why is that? I take it for leg cramps at night. Kathleen in NC
Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, No it was on a no-no list as far as mixing with Mirapex.... BUT - I did call my Pharmacist and she says you can't listen to everything on the internet [of course this was on the drug company's site... lol], but she said it did not show up in her references at all as a drug to have reactions with Mirapex. I trust her too as she is soooo thorough. We have probs all the time when my docs prescribe something and she will find it can interact with what I am taking all the time, and then says "I don't really want you to have this, let's find a different one..."... it's kind of funny. Then my doc will say "oh brother - no it doesn't..." ;-) I can't remember why now... but they listed several and said it was just because it may lessen or intensify the Mirapex's actions. ;-) So it probably isn't a big deal anyway... I guess it is just that legally, they have to list all these possible side effects and interactions etc.. and I guess in a study, if 2 people have a reaction out of 1000 or something, they have to list it. I am not sure how well they research *that* though either; like if those 2 people were sick with something else...blah blah. kwim? [just learning what KWIM means... haha - finally getting it ingrained in my memory]. ;-) I also found out Quinine isn't the same as what I take - I take Hydroxychloroquine - not the same as Quinine. They aren't as closely related as I thought... xo li ----- Original Message ----- Hi there,I didn't know that Quinine was on a "no no list". Why is that? Guest guest
Hi li, Your one up on me. I know what most of the little initials stand for but I don't know what KWIM means.... Is this Miraplex something for Fibro? If so what does it do? Is it a perscription? Sorry for asking so many questions but I had over 800 emails yesterday and I had to delete a lot of them and this thread was one of them. Thanks, Kathleen in NC
Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, kwim = know what I mean? ;-) Mirapex is for the restless leg syndrome - it's a prescription. Really it is a Parkinson's drug to control shaking. It is working well for me, for restless leg and sleep. I don't have Parkinsons's nope. ;-) I am not sure, but it might help a little for spasms... not sure though, and it does make you tired. xo li ----- Original Message ----- Hi li,Your one up on me.
