If things are changing for him in therapy, or he's frustrated or

overwhelmed, that would certainly explain the wetting.

He may not be able to control it. Sounds as if some changes need to be

made....

Oh My, First off {{{{{HUGS}}}}}. Ok now I have to ask does he have to be

potty trained to be where he is placed? I only ask because I thought it was

normal for some children to backslide when they potty train. At least it

worked that way for , he was fine then all of a sudden one day he

wasn't. Actually he was in preschool also during this time. Of course I had

just given birth to so that was probably the reason for the backslide.

I'm starting to wonder about ABA with also. He is gaining so many words

and can point out things now, which he couldn't do a few months ago. I have

to wonder if the constant pressue of name this, name that, what's this and

what's that is getting to him. IS this where his transition issues stem

from.

I hope that everything works out for you. I hope your able to figure out

why he's doing that, it can be so fustrating.

can't he wear diapers to school until it's handled?

I mean ,does he have to miss school because of this? Especially when he

doesn't seem to mind missing school? <I wouldn't either!>

Does he seem bothered by his mistake at all, or is he oblivious to it? I'm

assuming this is not on purpose and quite out of his control.....

I wonder what could be going on!!!

Stimming a lot and won't sit down. Wetting pants again. Not getting much

out of ABA suddenly.

What could have caused this type of a reaction in Trevayne? Everything the

same at home AND at school?

I don't know why I am asking all these questions since no matter what you

answer, I won't know the reason as I have never been in this situation.

But - hopefully, it gets your brain churning, or at least someone else's on

this list.

I hope it gets better. It DOES sound absolutely exasperating.

PEE Pants

> Trevayne has been Peeing his pants lately. Two three times a day. He has

been potty trained for months now and here he is peeing his pants. He went

to Preschool today and I told him if you pee your pants you will need to go

home. His aid reminded him and with minutes of this he pees his pants!!!

ARRRGH! So I packed the kid up and took him home. I changed him and then

he asks " go back school? " No I say you peed your pants and now you have to

stay here. You can't go to school if you are going to pee your pants. He

didn't seem too upset but his aid said that he was a little upset when I

left to go back to volunteer in Chenoa's class. At any rate, when I got

home we asked him again if he needed to use the bathroom. " no way " he says.

Minutes after this he pees the fresh pants. I am going to put the kid in

the dog cage here pretty soon! He exasperates me! He is at speech right

now and set is sleeping. It is so quiet. Chenoa is coloring. AHH. I

know though that when. He comes home and set is awake the craziness will

start all over again. I was told that he isn't doing so well in ABA.

Stimming alot won't sit down so on. What am I supposed to say to that?

When he started he was doing so well in ABA. Maybe his schedule is too much

for him, I don't know. I know it is for me. Anyway just needed to vent my

frustration.

I wonder if he's more stressed right now? Maybe it's triggering sensory

issues just like it does in , and he can't recognise that he has to

pee? The can't sit still could be part of it.

Has something changed for Trevayne lately? Something

he's not happy with? regressed and started

peeing his pants again right after was born.

We had to train him all over again. Ug.

Yes, why can't you just send in a few extra sets of

clothes..this is what we do for since they are

potty training him. It seems ridiculous that Trevayne

has to miss school because he had an accident.

Sounds like something is bothering him there and maybe

he knows if he wets..he gets to go home and is removed

from the situation.

Hope you can get to the bottom of this, Chris!

The choice was mine to take him home. The wetting himself issue has become such

a problem that I am changing him 2-3 times a day. When he peed his pants a few

mere minutes after being asked if he needed to go, I felt that the only thing

that might make an impression. I really don't know what is going on with him.

He does have a very rigorous schedule and maybe that is what is causing him to

regress. Then the question is... What do I do. I mean He needs speech and OT.

In general he does well at preschool. He doesn't like ABA but how many kids do?

I am at a loss and I have laundry up the kazoo!

I don't think any of the kids like ABA..it's hard

work. Can they break up the ABA time..give him a few

more breaks?

Good luck, Chris.

how long has he been in ABA? Maybe he has outgrown it, maybe he is

bored out of his mind?

I take it he is in an ABA classroom fulltime? <Forgive me for not

knowing.... I lose track of most everyone here....>

Perhaps a change of curriculum is in order?

Depending on how long this problem has been going on for, I think I'd give

it a little time first. Maybe he IS just regressing a bit to jump ahead.

But if it lasts for a month or so, I think I'd definitely try changing

something about his day.

Gosh, that's a tough one!! I hope you figure something out, other than

putting him in the dog cage, silly! ;o)

Hi everyone,

Have to tell you I was nervous about starting ABA with 2 1/2 years old

because I went to see how it was done. I saw one child screaming. I said

start with and lets see what happens. That was last Monday, and he

LOVES IT!!!! I couldn't believe it. He runs for the therapist when she

comes in the room and starts saying " bye bye " to everyone so he can go. He

loves the tickles. I see improvement already in eye contact. This is a

child that started out 3 seconds looking only (2/10) and now 7/10 for 5

seconds. Now how would another kid handle it, well I think it all depends on

the child.

Take care,

Helaina
