Guest guest
Hi everyone I wanted to provide the various dispatch lists with a " 911 cares " update. and I taught this week at the Tennessee State NENA conference. We purchased 1200 cards (at pstc expense) and had everyone at the conference write cards to dispatchers at the many affected centers. We collected many of them yesterday and will pass them to various centers. BUT - we need more, LOTS more. Remember, NYPD has 2200 dispatchers alone. Then add FDNY, Port Authority, Pentagon, various DC centers and PA centers, we need over 5,000 well wishes at least. We will continue to provide supplies at every PSTC class and conference for the next 30 days or more. We ALSO passed the hat at the Tennessee event and collected $700 in just 10 minutes! That money will be added to money you are all sending. It will be used to support the various centers involved AND to support the family of the Jersey City Fire Dispatcher that died at the WTC event (confirmed in a previous post) Last, we had attendees kids draw cards for the rescuers and dispatchers. It was a great action step for kids that are scared and confused. They were very touching and I know they will appreciated. One little boy that couldn't even write his name without help, drew the most striking picture of a search dog on the WTC rubble. Amazing! As a reminder, you can help! Please print this and pass the info to your staff or CUT and PASTE it and e-mail it to anyone that you feel would help. You also may re-post this to any groups that you feel would help in our efforts to recognize and support the 911 communities involved. Send cards, letters, gifts (excluding food) or checks to: PSTC - 911 Cares PO Box 5508 Redwood City,CA 94063 If you'd like to put it on your VISA or Mastercard, e-mail me privately and we will e-mail you a authorization form. Checks should be made out to PSTC " 911 Cares fund " . Our first batch of cards has been sent and more will go out this weekend! I will post another update at that time. My deepest gratitude - and the entire PSTC family.
