Guest guest
I've never taken it but I know my mother has problems " moving " in the morning! She took it and it did nothing for her. For others it's a miracle drug. Who knows. I'm sure my mom would say " pull it " and for those who it works for " aboslutely not " . It's just how it works for you. Guest guest
lindsay, i saw on my news page this morning that in germany they're telling people to stop using celebrex. europe always seems more advanced in medications than us, or so it seems to me. i've never been able to take any of the nsaids. i've tried them all, including vioxx, celebrex, bextra, they make my stomach HURT so bad, i feel like i have 1,000 ulcers. i really don't know what to think about pulling it or the other nsaids still out there. i wouldn't take them myself, now, even if i could tolerate them. i hate meds that have the risk of heart attack or stroke, i've seen that from time to time on meds my doc has given me. no way. i'm not taking any chances with my heart. it's bad enough i take lipitor which can wreck the liver. i keep telling my doc I NEED MY LIVER and he keeps testing me regularyly. anyway, i can't see why this conversation wouldn't be allowed, or am i missing something. Deck the halls with boughs of holly Fa la la la la la la la la . . . Happy Holidays Lindy Lou I'm watching C-SPAN right now, and they're talking about the possiblepull of Celebrex... It's actually quite interesting. Now, I've never taken Celebrex, or Vioxx for that matter... but I wason Bextra for a little while. Well, that was before we found out thatany form of NSAIDs make me sick. Bextra, other then making me sick, didn't do much to help my pain.Do you think Celebrex should be pulled? I'd like to hear some people'soppinion on this...And do you take it? If you do, does it help? Are the possible risksthat come along with the drug "worth" taking the medication? If they're pulling Vioxx, and now discussion the possible pull ofCelebrex (and I'm pretty sure Bextra too), should they pull allNSAIDs?Or, am I just starting a discussion that I shouldn't be? =PLoves and hugs, and keep warm today!-
Guest guest
Yeah, I'm very sensitive to NSAIDs too... I get sick, get cold sweats, shakes... Motrin 800 made me soo soo sick when I had it. So I don't take NSAIDs anymore. - On Mon, 20 Dec 2004 12:03:49 -0600, rosey lindy lou wrote: > lindsay, > i saw on my news page this morning that in germany they're telling people to > stop using celebrex. europe always seems more advanced in medications than > us, or so it seems to me. > i've never been able to take any of the nsaids. i've tried them all, > including vioxx, celebrex, bextra, they make my stomach HURT so bad, i feel > like i have 1,000 ulcers. > i really don't know what to think about pulling it or the other nsaids still > out there. i wouldn't take them myself, now, even if i could tolerate them. > i hate meds that have the risk of heart attack or stroke, i've seen that > from time to time on meds my doc has given me. no way. i'm not taking any > chances with my heart. it's bad enough i take lipitor which can wreck the > liver. i keep telling my doc I NEED MY LIVER and he keeps testing me > regularyly. > anyway, i can't see why this conversation wouldn't be allowed, or am i > missing something. > Deck the halls with boughs of holly > Fa la la la la la la la la . . . > Happy Holidays > Lindy Lou > I'm watching C-SPAN right now, and they're talking about the possible > pull of Celebrex... Guest guest
: I think this is a very good topic but thats JMO My Dad was put on Celebrex.. sortly after he had open heart surgery.. he was only on it maybe 6 month's not even sure if it was that long.. after he was off it he had a light stroke that effected his voice box.. I found out after. that he should never of been put on Celebrex. because it cause's clotting of the blood..NOT GOOD FOR SOMEONE WITH A HEART CONDITION... I am on Bextra.. for me Bextra is not helping my pain or stiffness at all.. and I am very concerned about this drug.. because I too have heart problem's..( I take after dear old dad) If the drug's are bad or causing serious health problem's then yes they should be pulled.. Guest guest
I tried Celebrex about 3 1/2 years ago and it didn't help me at all, so the dr. gave me some samples of vioxx to try. That made me feel like I was going to faint, and I also felt like my throat and tongue were swollen. It didn't look swollen, but felt that way, and I was having a hard time talking because of it, so I stopped taking it immediately. My mom's best friend took Vioxx for carpal tunnel, and it caused her to have a very bad respiratory infection. As for it being pulled, I think it's really up to the patient. It depends on if they want to live a better quality life for possibly a shorter period, if it helps them and they don't have bad/dangerous side effects, rather than not taking anything and feeling like crud for many years. Guest guest
I'm on Celebrex. I know that I will be in more pain when they take it away from me but I will also be $55.00 richer. It is expensive. I think I should start telling my docs if it hasn't been around long enough for a generic form then I don't want it. Course then I couldn't get in on the lawsuit....LOL I thought it wasn't helping anymore but when they made me stop taking it a week before my hysterectomy last year, I realized that it had indeed been working. Don't know what I'll do now. Maybe if I just add a muscle relaxer on top of my Morphine (kadian) I'll be ok? I know the muscle relaxer won't help my arthritis but the pain med should right... ?? Guest guest
a - couldn't you ask your doctors for " samples " ? My doctor has meds like that in her office and if I'm short on money she'll sometimes give me samples. That's how I get my migraine medicine. It worth asking, at least, if it's that much!!
