Guest guest
--I was just thinking about you guys. I looked up HFMD on the Net and it said it could take up to 10 days to go away. Gus was pretty miserable (esp at nite) for almost that long. Our ped told us to give him Motrin and Benadryl at nite and it worked WONDERS. We were finally able to get some sleep w/ very little or no screaming. She gave us specific dosages based on his weight (20.5 pounds). I think Mommy and Daddy were close to our wits' end before the meds. I was ready to tape record the screaming and bring it in to the doc-- thank goodness the meds worked. She said the sores in the throat (she showed them to me--they were AWFUL) make it painful to swallow-- I felt so bad for " Little G " --so it makes eating hard. Also, she said no Apple Juice or anything else that is acidic and that sometimes Mylanta helps soothe the throat. (We never did the Mylanta- -the Motrin worked for the pain for us). Anyway--sorry for rambling. I sure hope it gets better soon. I feel like I am still catching up on sleep after that ordeal. I'm with you on the only one time--it would be very bad to do over again! Good luck and best wishes!--Kim (about to experience Hurricane Isabel tomorrow--Uggghh!) --- In Plagiocephaly , " B. " <wbilling@t...> wrote: > Kim--- does have Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. It is horrible. He has been so sore and unable to eat. We had to go to the ER and get some pain relief the other night. No one has been getting sleep at our house. Awful. I hope you are right about the one time only thing. It's the worst.
