Shoes - Birkenstocks

Hi All,

Just wanted to add my experience to this thread.

About 3 or 4 years ago I broke down and bought a pair of Birkenstock

sandals. Have been told by numerous people that they were really good for

basially everything from your lower back down.

Well I didn't like them at all. The area where your foot sits got nasty

real quick - like suede footbeds do. This was due to sweat from my feet as

well as when they'd get wet at all. I had bought the eraser thing and a

couple other 'tools' but none of them worked. It got to the point where it

was dangerous to walk around in them as the footbed became slippery after

having them on for a bit. They also became very smelly! So in the trash they

went and I've never bought another pair.

The best pair of shoes I've found to date is a pair of Skechers hiking

boot type things model #SN 2310. They are stylish and extremely comfortable

for me. Of course they don't work too well in the summer :-)))
