Moderator's note:

There are significantly more people who die from the side affects of NSAIDS,

such as aspirin and ibuprofen etc. Primarily, from bleeding ulcers.

The News in magazines, television, and other sources of media, needs to be as

sensational as possible. Not to mention the people who are paid to make up false

studies, and on, and on it goes.

Feeling cranky because it's so darn hot here.

Wow!

I know i have chronic pain. I have various ailments and evidence of

them for example neck herniations, back, nerve damage, fibromylagia, the

list goes on- etc. My proof MRI's,Nerve conductive tests, blood tests,

etc.

After reading the posts for awhile now, I see many people on here are

medicated with various very strong medications (morphine, oxycodone,

oxycontin, fentanyl, demerol, etc.)

I was wondering what type of ailments, diseases, etc. that you all

have that the drs. give out this medicine so easily and are they

regular MD's, Specialists, Pain Clinic Drs.

Reason being, dr's around here don't give out these medicines unless you have a

terminal illness. They just tell you to get physical therapy, which by the way is

temporary if you have something like fibro) give you sleeping medicine(which

makes you more tired and unambitious) or muscle relaxers. (Drs. don't have a

problem with giving prescriptions for these meds.)

I can see for short term therapy but for long term illness such as

fibromylgia(which there is no quick fix) it doesnt seem to be the answer. I

believe that if there was some sort of cure for these diseases that people didnt

need to get help through stronger meds, than that would be great.

I believe very much in message and reflexology for fibro but insurance

does not pay for it. Gee, I wonder why, probably because it actually

will help people.

With all the hoopla about people dying with overdoses from narcotics

and the media attention i guess it makes it bad for some people that

actually have ligitimate pain. Also, I believe what some people on

here say about the difference between addiction and abuse vs. real

legitimate pain and the need for medication to get through the day and

life, and a better quality of life!

Just wondering.
