Guest guest
Two years ago when the taxes on homes came down my wife and I decided to see about getting our home refinance and we got it done OK. It was a big saving in our monthly home payment. The woman who processed our loan told us she noticed we had never filled for a Tax Exemption. I am dumb to home buying and did not know anything about tax exemptions. She also told me with my MS and me being on disability I can also file for a medical tax exemption. We were approved for our exemptions but not sure when it would go into effect. It does in August. We got a reeally nice pay check back from our Mortgage company and I got my new monthly payment book today. That exemption saves me $154 a month off my monthly payment. We have always had our property tax built into our mortgage payment. If you have never checked to see if you can get relief from tax exemptions you might check into it. Lynn you told me 2 years ago about your filing for your tax exemptions. I am a happy guy today. Bill Something About That Name

Guest guest
Bill do you know if you have to be on disability to claim the tax exemptions? Or can you get a signed letter from the Dr. stating disability? We had to pay an enormous amount of taxes this year, and that exemption sure could have helped. I wonder if its too late this year to claim it seeings how tax season is over? Guest guest
The woman who gave us that info said we were most likely to get the regular tax exemption but would need to check with our local assessor to find out about the medical exemption. I will ask my wife about the medical exemption. I can't remember at this moment. I would recomend you contact your local assessor where you live to find out more. I did a search for tax exemptions and you might try the search using the state you live in. I will be curious what you find out. I took my wife and son out for supper tonight I was so happy. Guest guest
We live in our town so it will be interesting to see how long our city taxes stay low for us. It seems like our taxes go up every year. Bill Jackie Hanan wrote: Bill do you know if you have to be on disability to claim the tax exemptions? Guest guest
Hi Jackie I asked my wife if she could refresh my memory about the medical tax exemption and all I had to do was have proof of getting Social Security. I just made use of my yearly w2 I get from them. My wife went to our local assesor and did the paper work their. Guest guest
Dear Bill, Jackie and anyoneelse interested When I signed up for the property tax exemptions I got the disablity and homestead. The homestead is simply living in the house. The disablity I took a letter from my neuro. The same for my handycap licence plate. Guest guest
It has gone up some but I still pay less than $100 a year. It will probably go up when or if Jr. ever takes the garage door down and builds a wall in there.
