Guest guest
I just wanted to tell you a quick version of Jenna's experience. She was STARbanded at 9 months. She wore her band for 12 weeks exact. They estimated approximately 80% correction. She has rounded more post graduation. She didn't have any major growth spurts while banded but still improved at every visit. She had a spurt the last week she wore her band. Her ortho had many years experince. She was very knowledgable and great with Jenna. Please let us know how the fitting goes. Angie and Jenna(grad 1/21/03) Re: starting to bulge over top of ear Hi Cara,Our Ortho told us that sometimes will happen and to expect it. My son, 7 months old, was casted for the StarBand about 3 weeks ago, and we go tomorrow to get the helmet. At our casting is when he told us to expect the bulging above the ears... he said they really weren't sure what causes it, but it happens a lot, and goes away after the completion of treatment. Have you been happy with the Starband? Has your daughter had any sores? Any advice would be appreciated... I know a lot of members use the Doc band, but I'd love to hear from a person with experience with the Starband. Congrats on the upcoming graduation!!! Can't wait to be at that point... also, what was your daughter considered... mild, moderate, etc?? My son was said to be mild... I think moderate. I am impressed with the quick results you have experienced... again, any tips would be appreciated!! Thanks, Morden> Hi,> My now 8 month old daughter was starbanded 6/12/03. It's a bit tough to adjust I think because the > helmet comes together above that ear - there's a bit of spring force > involved in the helmet in that area.
