Guest guest
Hello everyone: I find this article very interesting, hope that you can read it Thanks Re: File - Greetings for Group.htm Hello All, I am Sue, I am in my late twenties and have been on antidepressants for 10 years now and on Klonopin for 16 months. I got pregnant in the summer of 2004 and was finally able to get off of Paxil since I didnt want it to pass through to the fetus. I was on the lowest dose possible so finally ridding myself of it was easy. Also I was on an emotional high just knowing that I was pregnant. I had never felt better in my entire life than when I was pregnant. No depressions, no anxieties and I never slept better in my entire life. I guess that was just a tease because one my baby was born life has never been the same. I was one month post partum when I finally realized that something just wasnt right. I was constantly nervous, afraid of everything, didnt want to be near my baby, wouldnt go outside of the house....I had all of these fears and to be quite honest I wanted to die. I had my breakdown on a Thursday afternoon, was in the hospital all day and evening, and the next day was seen by a therapist. I had post partum depression (PPD), & post traumatic stress disorder. Needless to say here I am 16 months later and I am alive. I am totally in love with my child, I love my husband, yet there are still times when I have my lows. I am currently taking 225mg of Effexor and 1 mg Klonopin daily. I am trying my hardest to kick the Klonipin but I feel overly anxious, sick to my stomach, and very foggy when I try to decrease my dose. It didnt help that I started taking birth control pills 6 months ago...that just totally added to the anxiety which I refer to as hell. So as of today I am no longer on the pill. Lets see what happens. Sorry for going on and on, I feel that I could just keep typing about how I am feeling. Just wanted to let everyone know a little bit about myself. So, as you can see I am trying to get off of "K" but I feel as if it is in control of me instead of the vice versa. I hope there is a light at the end of this tunnel.Withdrawal_and_Recovery Moderator <Withdrawal_and_Recovery-owner > wrote: Greetings! Welcome, new members! We're glad you found us. We have aa good amount of experience here, most of which will reassureyou that what you're experiencing is far from unusual, and youwill succeed in getting off the drug(s) you are on. Please take a moment to introduce yourself, and let us knowyour needs. Then, take a look at our group homepage at:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Withdrawal_and_Recovery/ Once there, you can take a look in the FILES section(link is located in the left hand margin) and the LINKS section. The FILES will contain stories of other people and their experienceswith psychotropic drugs. We have found that there is little need to differentiatebetween these drugs; they all result in similar harm. After you've perused the FILES and LINKS, you can search the archives using the search engine on the lower part of the front page. I will caution you to not embrace any single idea or post you see as it may contain errors. If you have any questions regarding some of the posts, please feel free to ask for clarification. You will see a number of posts talking about nutritional supplementsand whether or not they are appropriate. The most accurate statementI can give on this is that each INDIVIDUAL case must be consideredand evaluated for appropriate nutritional therapy and safety. DO NOT take something because someone on the list told you it helpedhim/her. Biochemical individuality is a very real thing and must beconsidered before treating yourself. I can give more infoon how we deal with this as we go along. If you have not yet reported your adverse reactions to the drug(s) youwere/are on, please go to the FDA page below and do that. In 99%of all cases, your doctor has not done this. Most of you have had theexperience of physicians not believing what you are experiencingand the cause of it. The ONLY mechanism that exists for feedback on a drug thatis on the market is this FDA MedWatch program. If it doesn'tget reported here, no one will ever know (except those here)that these drugs are a problem. I STRONGLY urge EVERYONEwho has not done a report to do one. This is step one in gettingsome attention to this invisible problem. Here's how to make the report: http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/how.htm Other links of interest would be: **http://www.drugawareness.org/home.html http://www.paxil-side-effects.com/paxil-news.htmlBe cautious here. They havelong been criticized for their stance on psychotropicmedication. Regardless of what you think of Scientology, these people are leaders in revealing the duplicitous natureof the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA.I rate CCHR at the top in the info they provide and thework they do on this issue. I don't make a practice of this, but I feel the need to warnyou that there is some highly questionable and poor informationabout withdrawal floating around the internet.
