Jeff, four cuts of 4% since June is too much too fast. Don't

wait so long to corect this. If you are not mostly stable after 10-

14 days, the decrease was too much or too soon. Correct it by going

back up. The longer you let it go, the more damage you're doing.

** Sounds like yeast to me. You may want to get tested for

this. A system in withdrawal is overly acidic. See the article in

the files about pH. You can buy saliva stripsd to test your pH.

Hello ,

The doxepin capsule has 0.27 g in weight. I made each of the four

reductions by removing 0.01 g from the capsule.

I've been extra careful about the tapers this time round. I made a 4%

cut (= 0.01 g) at the end of June. Waited 14 days in between. Made

the next 4% cut, waited another 14 days, another 4% cut around the

end of July, waited another 14 days and was fine so far. The last cut

coincided with that awfully stressful week.

I noticed a gradual improvement over the week so I guess I'm not in

trouble at the moment. I went to a friend's birthday party yesterday

and although I came home late I actually slept ok and for the first

time in a week did not feel overly stimulated.

I believe both factors played together: the last cut and the overly

stressful week. In any case, I will wait until I'm completely stable

before making any further cuts. I don't believe that any damage has

occurred yet.

After what happened in May/June I wanted to be extra careful and had

the impression that I was doing ok and being careful. Is a 4% (= 0.01

g) cut per two week period too fast? At this rate the taper would

take roughly more than a year (by taking into account that the last

cuts would obviously have to be stretched so as to avoid breaching

the 10% barrier).

Had a yeast test last year which came back negative. But you could be

right about the acidic factor. I'll have it checked.

Thanks!

Jeff
