Guest guest
thanks Natasha and Debbie, I appreciate the response. We have just about decided to go with the band. Ian's story is that he's 8 months this week. at about 3 months we noticed the flattening on his right side behind his ear. but the dr said lets do some stretching etc and see if it gets better. we tried repositioning his head but it always ended up back on that right side. it did get slightly better as time went on but still noticably flat. we were getting nervous so we investigated the band ourselves.- we sort of went about it backwards. we went for a doc band consultation, then we went to a Dr. both of which said it is marginal, he could probably benefit from it but they can't promise it will help but in most cases will make it better than it is. However, since it is really cosmetic it is really up to u. after those 2 appt we were siding with the band. then we heard of one more dr in NY City so we thought his opinion would be valuable. this Dr. even though he believes in bands and perscribes them to several of his patients. heavily discouraged us against it. saying that due to Ian's age the amount of correctness that would happen, etc he really felt we shouldn't do it. after that meeting we were thoroughly confused. I just don't want to regret not knowing that I did everything I could do to help make Ian's head shape normal. so that's where we are. we are just waiting to see if our insurance will accept and if so at this point I think we will proceed. thanks
