Guest guest
Moderator's note: Here is a link that explains this sensation. It's called hypnic, hypnagogic jerk, or myoclinic twitch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnic_jerk or http://tinyurl.com/cyx63 Kaylene Do you have seizures? If so, what type and do you know what is causing them? Are you taking lyrica? Hi Carol I have been taking Lyrica since March of this year. I take 50 mg in the morning and 150 mgs in the afternoon and at bedtime. Recently, both my son and my mother have noticed that I shake and twitch the entire time I am sleeping. I do it every few minutes, multiple times. My son thinks I am having seizures, but I think it is called something else. When I am trying to fall asleep, and about to drift off is when I notices these enormous, full body twitches. It feels like when you are dreaming and almost asleep and you think you are falling and sort of jerk awake. It is hard to explain. Like I said, I doubt these are seizures, but I have been having these since I got to my current dose of Lyrica and my current dose of Fentanyl patches which is 50 mcg. I feel sorry for you having this problem. It seems we take medicine to help us, and then take medicine to fix the side effects- like a viscious circle.
