Hi Jan,

Have you tried talking to department of vocational rehabilitation about your

son?

Maybe they can help you more.

I too am sorry about the medical state, that there needs to be a " family or a

baby " just to get any aid. We all need our health and food, two things I would

gladly pay extra for if I could.

I will be praying for you and your son that you are able to gain something in

the next how many months.

It is taken over 6 years for me to get my disability so I am hoping to get

medical bills paid for finally starting in July.

Sounds like she isn't happy in the job she has and the CNA's are over

worked, have like 8 people to take care of in the 8-10 hours they have and still

try to get everything done. Then the care suffers in the long run.

There sometimes are double shifts but even that takes a toll on someone,

mentally as well as physically.

I was doing it for only 3.35 in 1987 and it took its toll on me badly, other

than back pain though the only reason I would go back is to learn how to take

care of my parents. I took care of the developmentally disabled. They couldn't

walk or talk, only 3-6 month old mentality so a lot of lifting.

Sucks that she has to complain about it instead of trying to find a solution to

her unhappiness

> But she gets so much help by working so little that she won't go any other

way. Just for having kids, she gets her life paid for by the tax payers.

I think that is where DVR would help out. Department of Vocational

Rehabilitation. I was trying to go thru it until they discovered my tumor.

> I am so frustrated and I am not much of a help to him financially but I will

do all I can to help him apply and appeal everything.

>

I would as well.

> Life is hard enough for us with chronic pain and then having to see >your

child suffering and not getting anyone to take him seriously except his MD and

his mother!!!

My oldest and not sure of the others may have ADD but am so afraid to even

" label " him, but he does have a major problem focusing on a task. I just don't

want to hurt him in the long run.

>He could easily be a candidate for some kind of weight reduction >surgery as

well he is over 400 pounds now, but he needs so much other help first and no one

willing to give him a hand. NO ONE CARES!!

I don't know how much DVR can do but hopefully they have some program that will

help with all that.

> It is hard for me being so alone here trying to find anyone who can appreciate

what I go through

Most of the time it is:

" out of sight, out of mind " type thing, because it is easy to ignore than to

face what we need to. I am not saying it is right, but I think that is the

reason, unless I am wrong about this??

I think I do see other people differently, especially the disabled.

When I couldn't walk, it was the one thing I wanted to do but couldn't and when

it is taken away anyone just wants to do it more so.

I couldn't wait to get home so I could walk on my own and not have to " be a pain

in the butt " with the nurses since, there were others that were worse than me on

the hospital floor.

Thankfully they let me out early. I had to tell them, there will always be

someone home. Husband works nights and the kids only have

school for the week.

The doctor was just concerned about my husband needing something and then a fire

breaks out and I can't get out of the house.
