awesome Leigh! I know what a *relief* it is to be diagnosed! ;-) I do.... When I was dx'd with Lupus and then years later with FM, I was scared but happy all at the same time. lol I wanted to say HA to everyone for not believing I was sick. ;-)

Tra-la-la...I have CFS!! I KNEW it. And he said FMSgoes hand in hand with it so likely that, too. Hesaid since I'm not in major, major pain with it whereI can't function, he is going to hold off on therheumatologist for now, unless I just wanted to go. Isee him again in late January and then we'll decideabout getting a definitive diagnosis for FMS...but heput me on Wellbutrin XL for the CFS...so now maybe Iwill have more energy. I DO NOT, definitively do NOT have lupus. Mythyroid levels were well in the normal range. Everything has been ruled out, and CFS ruled in.=====~~Leigh

same here, when i was finally diagnosed with fms and arthritis i wanted to slap everyone who had told me ALL my symptoms, even the painful joints (DUH) were all in my head. i'd still like to line them up and slap them. lol

Thanks, li. I kinda got the feeling that my

inlaws think I am nuts still, esp. when I told them I

was on Wellbutrin. I was like, " I'm NOT depressed!!

It's a treatment for CFS! " I can tell they think CFS

isn't a " real " disease/condition. I think they think

I am lazy b/c the house is always a mess and they know

my husband does a lot at home to help. Well, it's

because I don't feel like running around and cleaning

all the time, esp. with 3 kids ages 11, 8 and 6 who

keep the house in a mess. Maybe now with the meds,

though, I will.

leigh,

you need to print out some info from the internet regarding CFS and FMS and give it to your inlaws to read. people like this make me so mad, judging others without knowing anything about what the person is going through. i've had this my entire life, because from the time i was a very young adult, i began having symptoms, whether or not they were caused by fms, i don't know, all i do know is i was sick but everyone, including doctors, were telling me for years and years and years, it's all in your head, just snap out of it, be tough, blah blah blah, and that in itself made me feel bad, emotionally, which in turn had an even more negative effect on my illness.

love and hugs,

lindy lou

That's such a shame... grr.. Had the same prob. with my x-in-laws... They were just too bad; was bleeding internally once bad... and they didn't even believe me - his sister rolled her eyes at me and his mother agreed to take me to the ER but I had to wait a half hour while she fixed her hair first... lol! I sitting there sooo sick and gasping for air slightly. Then the ER screwed up and didn't beleive anything was wrong either...so a few days later I needed to go back...much worse by now and she didn't want to take me but did and was still ready to leave at the last minute in the ER... again the doc was a jerk too but I went into shock and... woke up the next morning in a hospital room with some old lady yelling. Never been so glad to hear some old lady in my life as IIwas relieved to see I was still alive lol. But by that night I was dieing and had to have emergency surgery. But between allthat tiem the hospital didabsolutely nothing. I sked and was told "oh your doctor is at church... we have to wait for him." 10 hours after that, he came but hadn't a clue as they hadn't told him before that. I was prego with twins and one was attached to my ovary and tore it in half and I had been bleeding for over 8 weeks. By then I was gasping for air bad [lost over 1/2 the blood in my body - all they would admit to] as I didn't have much blood left in my body to keep my organs going..

ANyway... I say if someone doesn't believe me when I am ill or the severity of it, then they don't deserve to be in my life! Poop on 'em, especially if they aren't willing to listen or learn... that's just too disrespectful. :-( And inhumane. You don't deserve to be treated that way.

laurali,

I completely agree with you, when I was married to my first husband, he

actually accused me of faking to get attention..at that time we thought I

have AS...i told him over and over to talk to his father, as he also has

AS....it wasnt until we were separated that he did so.... now the SOB is

sorry he didnt listen to me.... the sap..lol

My In-laws dont seem to understand that Im ill and i can t just get up and

go somewhere, or do somthing, shes always complaining about the state of our

house...i wanna tell her right where to go but im keepin my mouth shut for

now for my hubby, he hates any kind of conflict with his parents.... but he

does understand and thats all that counts...

Sorry I didnt mean to turn this into a vent session...lol
