Guest guest
> > how about semolina? is it allowed? > ikam Nothing flour or grain-based. No sugar-type substances. If you look cat the Eating for Recovery document it makes it very simple -- meat, vegetables, small amounts of fruit. Cheese is fine, too. Guest guest
said not to have any grains. Grains are starchy and generally need cooking before they are edible. They include wheat, millet, barley, rye, quinoa, semolina, rice, pasta, bread, corn. You've been told a few times here what you should be eating on Paleo and you said you were researching it yourself. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm beginning to wonder if part of you is resisting making a change in your diet because of a fear of losing out somehow on your favourite food. I know how this goes, I've been there: " if I can't have X, then what's the next-best replacement for X? " You'll feel so much better if you try eating the way has suggested, Ikam. Can you try a protein and veggies meal? You can keep it very simple if you like. See how you feel. I guarantee you'll feel better with that kind of breakfast than with bread and honey. In time you won't miss either the bread or the sugar because your body will start to want the foods that are good for it. Can you let us know when you've changed your diet, and how that's going? Guest guest
, I have just worked on a menu for two days a week, starting this weekend. I spoke to and it has been her advice. I am not trying to replace X with Y. I am really lost. As I have never put my mind into food it is a completely new area for me and I try to learn...I don't really have favourite foods- what I eat depends on getting it the easiest possible way... If it looks different from your side, sorry... If I ask questions they are very honest and I don't think there is a need to attack me for them...This is how I feel after reading your e-mail. Maybe it would be easier if I read about Paleo diet in my own language- unfortunatelly I need to recognise what some words mean... ikam wrote: said not to have any grains. Guest guest
Ikam, I don't think s is too far off the mark when she says you may be resistant. The reason I'm saying this is because you are going to chage yourt diet 2 days a week. In all the time I've been doing this, people just make the changes completely. Realistically speaking, you are going to have to expect much more from yourself than you do right now if you are going to make it through this. The whole time you're addressing this diet like you're being told to eat elephant excrement, and treating it like it is more difficult than getting a PhD, your body is being further harmed by the foods you put in it and the drugs you don't have the strength to discontinue because you aren't eating the right foods. I'm going to post some typical menus as provided by people following this way of eating. I'll send this to the list in another email. By no means was I attacking you. What I felt, after reading several posts, was that there was some hesitancy to try the Paleo diet, and I offered what I thought might be a reason why. You're telling me that it's a big learning process for you, and that is helping you, so you'll be fine if you stick with her advice. She's posted " The Way of the Paleo Warrior " on the list today which has lots of good ideas in it. I suppose that when you get used to eating this way, it's easy to forget that it can be a big transition to make. I actually think you're doing wonderfully just by coming here and being willing to make those changes. Many people would not do that and would choose to reamin ill. Let us know if you've got more questions; and like I said, let us know how you go when you change your food. You'll feel so much better, and it will help get the whole recovery process started. Guest guest
, I would agree about being hesitant. And it is not about diet itself, it is about my stomach. I react very badly to food. I generally like everything and like to try new things. I made some mistake yesterday- ate a banana. I felt very nausesus, had to take some medication. I on a list for some 24 hours assessment, the PH factor and something else... I can't eat letuce (or maybe I will find some time one that is grown without chemicals; i never had problems in my country!), can't eat cucumber, peppers, onions, garlic, culiflower, broccoly, brussel sprouts...Meat only boiled, the same with fish... I did my shopping for weekend and I am looking forward to trying something different...I have some fish- tuna and salmon steaks, organic chicken, eggs, carrots, parsnips, green celery and root celery, lots of nuts (I love them!), spinach for my soup...Is it all right to eat almonds? Curd cheese? Or just hard cheese... But if my stomach will react...My nausea is usually really bad, it makes me feeling very weak and tired...I don't have pain at night anymore, as I am on a strong medication. I don't want to have an operation, but... As I said I never cared before about my life, as I wanted to be dead. More and more often I feel I want to stay alive, so I understand that I need to change. It is a learning process, quite intersting... I looked for some info in my own language, but did not find anything specific... I bought some new things for my kitchen. Looking forward to make omlets. I was looking today for chicken livers, I like them and my body is " asking for them " ... I just ate few hazelnuts, one pack of rasberies- what do they contain? My body always wants them, and they don't upset me... , I felt misunderstood by you, but I uderstand your intentions. I have had a bad time recently and I react more sensitively to everything, crying quite often, feeling very tired... In the end of month I am going for two weeks holidays to Greece- I need a break... Thank you for your concern. Yes, I will ask questions... ikam > > > > , > > I have just worked on a menu for two days a week, starting this > weekend.
