Guest guest
ROFL Thanks for that email, honey. My daughter is wonderful, isn't she folks???? I try to be independent even when I have to be dependent on others for rides. I am the ruler of my kingdom! Warning! Advice from Sharon to follow! (as if anyone cares....lol) "I am the ruler of my kingdom" That is something for us all to remember, even though sometimes it might be difficult. We know our bodies better than anyone else. We know what makes our lives work easier. If we need help--yes, by all means, ask for it. But don't let people coddle you. It ain't good for your soul! If you can't do something then speak up and tell someone "I need you to do this for me please". Case in point: Yesterday afternoon I was canning bread and butter pickles. I was overcome with the heat. But I was still there doing it. I ask one of the grandkids to bring me my cane. I stood there at the stove, ladling lot the mixture into sterilized jars, with one hand holding me up with my cane. My granddaughter, , was concerned and kept wanting to ask her mom (my DIL) to help. said "mom's a grown-up and I'll bet she could do it if you tell her how". So I finally agreed and "let" 's mom come and help me. I showed her how to sterilize the jars, the lids, how to clean the rim of the jars.... etc. I went to lie down for 15 minutes with the fan blowing on me. Then I recovered. The jars were done and in the canner. And I ask my DIL to take me to the thrift store. I wanted a new lamp for my bedroom and I got it (and some other junk I didn't really need.....) The first six month's is HELL but I've adjusted and now I only have a reaction like every third shot and it's nowhere near as bad as the first six months. I kinda wanted to try something different this time but both my neuro and the other neuro in town believe in Avonex. Something about immunity problems with the others???? Don't really understand the gobbldegook. But I take lots of supplements. ..b12, omega oils, mineral supplements, cranberry, ginko, daily vit, and I even chew an extra vit c tab every day. Many of my vitamins are in liquid form. I really believe in the absorbtion issue. I, also, started the SWANK diet and while haven't stuck to it religiously, I haven't eaten any red meats in four months. Not sure if it's "fixed" my MS but I've lost 28lbs (without excercise) and the whole "low-fat" thing has controlled my irritable bowel syndrome. So...I do believe in nutrition, supplements and the meds!Mindy> > > > > > > When did you stop all CRAB drugs?
