Hi, I am working on my essay, so I am not getting too involved with reading e-mails and being on-line. Just wanted to ask what you think about “Barley soup” (I don’t know the proper name for this barley, it is the white one). It is quite traditional in my country. I make it usually using pork, boiling it with spices ;ground pepper, majoran, bay live, one or two cloves, one or two juniper fruit, dried garlic and onion salt, vegetable stock (unfortunately contains: monosodium glutamate); I add carrot, parsnip

and leek, if I have root of celery, if I have dried mushrooms. Simmer for some time, around 1 hour; add barley and then few potatoes. Another question: what is the craving for raspberries and for carrots? Often: sweet corn… See you later, I have to get back to work again…I have done some progress today, feel happier about it… Still,

recently I have found it unbelievable that people acknowledge my qualities, like me and want to help…After my getting back to work my supervisor asked me was it there anything they could help me with? Maybe some adjustments in work, like extra study leave? It touched me so much as I always felt it was me who has to adjust to work- not work to me…It actually put my whole world up-side-down as I was made to believe that I was to help my family and then I carried this through my life, often getting to the stage of burn-out…I cried afterwards a lot- it was so new for me. I was expecting being told of that I did not do my duties…I still feel surprised that it can be different…. see you later ikam

Hi Ikam, This soup sounds delicious. I think I will print it out so I can use some of the ideas. Meat soups and stocks made from meat bones are very good for you. All the vegetables and spices you mentioned are great. Especially the carrot, parsnip and leek. Root vegetables are very good for you. The only things you need to leave out are the barley, potatoes, and vegetable stock. Barley and potatoes have a negative impact on blood sugar. Blood sugar problems cause some of the symptoms you have been writing about. And MSG is extremely bad for anyone who has taken the medications we have. It has various negative effects including overstimulation. You will get plenty of flavor from the pork, leeks, celery, dried mushrooms and spices. The pre-packaged stock really isn't

necessary. If you want to increase the carbohydrates in the soup, just use more parsnips. Try it without the potatoes and barley, you might be pleasantly surprised. Let us know how it turns out. Thank you for all the great ideas in this recipe. I will try it next weekend. What type of pork do you use? I love pork.

Sneak preview the all-new Yahoo.com. It's not radically different. Just radically better.
