Guest guest
I notice that my daughter's lymph nodes are swollen at the base of her skull. This isn't uncommon for her (or for my other daughter when she was a baby). Does anybody know if this is uncomfortable for her with her Starband on? This is her 4th day with the starband on - is the starband rubbing and irritating the lymph nodes? I'll check with my ortho tomorrow - just really curious tonight! Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Thanks for the update Cara. I'm sure you're very relieved it's nothing to worry about!! The ingrown hairs definitely make sense! He also said not to worry about the helmet rubbing and damaging the lymph nodes - should be fine. My ortho said that we can remove a little material from the helmet next visit to give them a little room. My ortho also said we can rub/milk the nodes down to try to drain them a bit. Phew. I'm glad it's not a big issue! Thanks for the replies!Cara
Guest guest
yes, we had those too but they went away after about a month, I don't think it is anything to be concerned about. natasha > is in the Clarren helmet. Guest guest
Kathy, We too have those, but behind my son's ear. They certainly scare the daylights out of you until you know what it is. > is in the Clarren helmet. Guest guest
I want to thank everyone for their responses. Conveniently, we had an appointment with his ped today for his final flu shot and hep B. He did take a look and said that they were his lymph nodes but they were not of a size or firmness that concerned him. He said that if they were hard and larger (about the size of a small grape) he would be concerned. Thanks again to everyone who responded! Kathy and Gail - We live in Woodinville right on the border of Redmond. How long ago did you live here? So much has changed. I have lived here since September of 96 (but my husband grew up here) and before that I lived in New York...big change too! Thanks again!
