Guest guest
Kim~ Thank you for the information! I guess I am no different than any other concerned Mom! Sometimes I wonder if this internet thing does more harm than good. It always seems more serious when you read things on the internet then when you are sitting in the doctors office talking to him. My son Mick, although he is not big for his age use to eat all the junk in huge quantities also but like your son Subway has become his favorite fast food. At least there are some places out there where they can still eat and continue to feel like they fit in! I am trying to stick to a " lowered sodium, lowered protein diet " but I really don't have a clue of what I am doing. I would like to get him into a dietician. I guess this diet couldn't hurt the rest of the family either. With all this cooking from scratch I am going to feel like Martha before long! I was wondering how old your son is now and how well he adapted to this disease. Are his friends supportive? My son is very athletic and active so this diagnosis along with the fact that he only has the one kidney brought about some major lifestyle changes. Which brings about major concerns for a Mom with a son that is going into Junior high and is already the rebellious type! I guess I will have my hands full for the nest few years! I am glad to hear your son is doing well and hope for the same for my guy! Kassie
