Of course see a doc, but it just doesn't sound like Herpes to me, or at least not all of the spots. It doesn't sound typical anyway, to get a spot there, your chin and your hands. But just a thought; this sounds a lot like allergies, to me.

I only say that because it sounds a lot like what I had when I was a kid. My...woo-woo and hands would get these little, horrrible blisters and itch sooooo bad. The doc said I was allergic to some kind of green plant, gave me Cortisone shots and it got better.

I would wake in the mornings with my hands and face swollen sometime's and ooh my hands itched. I got those teeny blisters between my fingers too. I still get just a few tiny spots on my hands in the Spring.

But anyway, it's just a thought.

As for mentioning Herpes... it is just ironic that you mention it, because just the past few days, I am wondering that myself. I was SO devasted, I just cried for a few days. But after speaking with my intended [thinking oh great - I won't blame him if he doesn't want me now], he assured me all is ok, so that helped the emotional part at least. I have an appt. with the doc tomorrow for a culture. :-( I am just beside myself really. But... I too have been married a few times, had boyffirends when I was younger and was even raped. There's no way to tell how / what.

I hope at least, especially for the young one's listening... that this can be an example of what we should not do.... some of the things the people before you have done. :-) Was trying to find away to word that right...

I almost didn't say this because I feel so embarassed. [and there are a LOT of people here]. I had this spot pop up yearrrs ago and went to the doc but she said she couldn't really see anything - looked like a skin irritation. Well, after this bad Fibro attack recently, out pop's this spot again, but it is... different this time. I am not sure but I am really thinking it is Herpes. :*-( REALLY bums me out! I even popped out with a tiny one in the corner of my mouth, which I have always gotten on and off. I called the doc thrusday but he's too busy to get me in. [that did not make me feel too good.... something as important as this!], so my Rheumatologist, believe it or not, is going to see me monday afternoon. Well - I don't have anyone else to help me. I guess I could have ran to the ER... I thought of it but... they probably would have just said "ew - go see your doctor". I could see them saying that.

I just can't even imagine what else this could be, except Herpes. It's either that or cancer. :-P Pleassse - I'll take the Herpes then.

You could also have ingrown hairs that appear as bumps or a boil and have it not be Herpes so don't get panicky hun okies.. just wait till the Doc tests and stuff okies

Aw thank you Sophia. :-) You know... when I look at it [ew] it does not look like what I think Herpes would look like. But when I read about Herpes... to me, it does sound like it. It doesn't have much of a visible "sore" - it looks... well like a big [massive] pimple but without the head part of it?? It is even hard sort of, like a big pimple. I can feel something like a rough spot and it looks raw-ish, a big lump and it does have some open skin but... oh I don't know how to explain... Maybe if you scratched a big mosquito bite too much and the skin has an abraision? Nothing looks like a blister at all, and it isn't little bumps either - it's one big one. But that whole side is swollen. :-( It itches and hurts.

It's been doing that really since I had laser surgery 10 years ago. [they really messed me up - burnt the heck out of me!! I even developed a black spot near this area which had to be removed. >;-(] It used to get sore [like there is a swollen gland underneath] and swollen on and off, but now it is mostly constant. But the lump itself isn't constant. I thought it was probably the Lupus attacking that spot because Lupus will do that; attack areas that have already been "injured."

Ah who knows... I probably have some wierd, oogie-boogie disease.:-P

I've seen Herpes and it generally turns into an open wound.

Thanks hun, was just reading stuff about it in my health class so i sort of know a bit..... and was accused of giving someone Herpes once and I don't have it never have and had to prove it so I totally understand how you feel. I hope it goes away for you.. if not get checked ok... it is better to be safe than sorry hugs you

every once in a while i get a sore around my anus, ew, and it hurts like the dickens. it seems to be as you described yours here, laurali. i do have hemmoroids as well, so i don't know if the sore has anything to do with this. also, sometimes after sex, i'll get sore spots you know where. i've often wondered if i've gotten herpes from my husband. he and i have been married for 7+ years now, and we're in our 50s, so i know he could have gotten them at one time or another, but he says no, when i ask him, hard question to ask your hubby. and i know i never got herpes. i've never gone to the doctor about it, because it's hard to get in to see him when i have an actual sore. it's always 2 weeks plus to get in to see him. the sores just eventually go away, but they burn when peeing and the one on my bum, well i don't have to tell you how bad it hurts when . . .

anyway, i wonder if this is part of fms.

also, before i mentioned i seem to have a high acidic balance in my body. i've mentioned before how my husband has said that during sex, the secretions from my vagina burn him.

I am not sure about the hemmoriods - they might cause that too... But ask your doc maybe about this: I wonder if yours could be what they call a fissure, or a fistula. I get those tooo My doc said it is from the IBS. I said "but I have diareah more than constipation", he said "that'll do it." He told me to buy a good, thick diaper rash cream, and of course keep the area really clean, and if you use that it helps give it some protection. Pooping can be very painful when you know your butt will split open!! lol It's like having paper cuts there...

I have found for myself, to just buy some Witch Hazel - you'll find that down on the shelf with the rubbing alcohol, and when those act up, I wipe the area with that and then use the cream - it seems to really speed the healing....

I imagine use the teabags is good for this also.

Doooo get checked out for herpes my dear. No sense suffering any longer than you have to if it is. I wish I would have been properly diagnosed years ago now... :-( I was told mine is just an irritation before. Of course this is the first time it got this bad... but if I'd had the medicine....

Your hubby needs to be checked too! He'll have to get over his pride... I know it is devastating to think of... but it will be for the good of both of you. Supposedly this new medicine works pretty good...

Even when you don't have sores... I think there is a blood test that can be done. He could have been unknowingly walking around with this virus for many many years before you even met. I'd say it took at least 10 years for mine to pop up like this. I know he might, but he needn't feel guilty - he can reason that someone before him, gave it to him. No one get's it on purpose. :-( {{{Lindy Lou & hubby}}}. Now I am trying to convince myself of that. ;-) ha

And don't do what I did yesterday; I shaved, thinking the doc could see the area better. Well now I've got these short hairs poking me right in my boo boo and it hurtsss!!

that's exactly it -- it feels like the sore is spliting open. and i do keep that area clean. i use buttwipes. ha ha you know, the kind for babies. i'm going to have such a long list of things to talk to my doctor about next time. whoa!!!

yes, witch hazel is what's in wipes i found, for hemmoroids, only they're real expensive. good idea to use just plain ol witch hazel.

well you know, and this is gross and revealing, but hubby has had sores on his penis. they don't look like herpes, but they're sort of a raw looking thing. he's only had a couple in our marriage, as far as i know. so, that's it, i must have gotten herpes from him. i do need to ask the doctor about this as well.

well if it takes 10 years to show up, then i suppose i could have gotten them from someone myself. there was a couple guys, 10 years ago or so, that i should not have had sex with. i gotta tell you, while i was on Nardil, which i was on way way too much of, and it put me in a manic state, i found this out from another doctor from the one who first prescribed it for me, and anyway, during this year or so, i was SO VERY horney. i can't even describe to you how horney i was. i mean, it was insane. it's a good thing i was fat, or who knows what i would have ended up doing.
