Guest guest
Hi Jill Its , Lately my oldest daughter is always complaining of joint pain. sometimes its in the groin , the knee the and ankle. well just the other day She said that something happened to her shoulder she heard a noise, after that it hurt her for a day or so and she move it the noise and pain were still there. WE thought it might be growing pains but it seems to be after exersize. over the last little while I have been observing her and realized that her skin is very tranlusent as well But just in the chest and AB area. If the jointpain persists should I get her tested ? Or even if Petra's results come back postitive May be both of her siblings should be tested. This kind of difficulty is happening about two to three times a week where one moment a (my oldest) can't move her leg. She will have to stay still for an hour or so . Then she is hobbling around for while. I mentioned all of this to our family DR. and he said that its jusat growing pains and I have been told by other Dr's that there is know such thing as growing pains. Thanks Re: Thumb subluxation? Guest guest
, Ann was told she had " growing pains " needed psychiatric treatment, and was diagnosed with hypermobile EDS at age 22. So from 18 months old she suffered pain in her joints and was given no medical assistance until about 11 years of age when our G.P. thought she had osteocondritis in the knees and told her not to exercise as it would damage the bones. All your children need to be proberly assessed too. Love and hugs, Lilian
Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry to hear that your eldest daughter is having issues as well! It's just not fair, is it? What you are describing should be evaluated and since Petra is being assessed for EDS, all members of the family should - it's part of the diagnosis process with a geneticist, so yes, do follow up there. The signs that you are describing fall into the category of hypermobility or classical EDS issues, but having the geneticist assess the family as a whole is critical. Keep me posted please! Guest guest
Thanks Lillian < I think That she must have it to Idon't see the other kids suffering the pain she does after a soccer game or just exersize. When she was 5 she suffered an episode that they thought was juevenile arthritis, it lasted two weeks she could not use her knee. Any way I think your right and will let Petra's Dr's know at Sick Kids. Thanks Re: Thumb subluxation?
