Nada and pets

Just need to vent.  Nada has huge pet issues as many of our BP parents do.  Her

need for unconditional love is totally at the expense of the pet and it just

devastates me.  She has a bichon frise which is about a 20lb dog.  He has never

been out of her house except twice when he had to go to the vets for emergency

antibiotics.  He pees and poops on newspaper in her basement and has never had

any training.  He is terrified of people and neurotic when Nada is not around.

Oh ya, he is 3 years old.  He has never been socialized with other dogs or

people nor has he been neutered.

So I just got an email from Nada freaking out because this week she had to work

extra long shifts so she left the back door to her house open to the small

fenced yard so the dog could go in and out.  Well the dog dug out under the

fence and took off.  A neighbor brought the dog back to her this morning letting

her know he had escaped.  She was really upset and her comment in her email was

- " I don't know what I am going to do with him!  I guess I will have to walk him

or something.  Obviously now that I am working he needs company so I better get

him another dog. "

Great, that is sooo Nada.  She can't handle the dog she has so the solution is

to get another one.  It upsets me so much that she cannot see the fault in

this.  What burns me even more is I am a coordinator for a pure bred rescue (not

bichon's!!!) and I am ashamed at the way she treats her pets.  Never in zillion

years would I ever approve her for a dog.

Thanks for listening.

Steph
