Guest guest
I don't ususally send forwards, but as many people should know about this as possible. On February 12, 1993 a small boy who was to turn three on March was taken from a shopping mall in Liverpool by two 10 year old boys. Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend . They took on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him and threw stones at him and rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus. They then left this beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him overto hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident. This week Lady Justice -Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence. One paper even stated that may go onto University. They are getting away with their crime. They need to pay, and we have to do something to make them pay for their horrific crime. They took 's life violently away, and in return they get a newlife. Please add your name and location to the list and forward to friends and family. PLEASE COPY THIS EMAILINSTEAD OF FORWARDING SO WE DO NOT GET " >>>> " AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SENTENCE. If you are the 200th person to sign please forwardthis email to cust.ser.cs@... attentioning itto Lady Justice -Sloss. Then start the list over again and sent to your friends and family. The Love-Bug virus took less that 72 hours to reach the world. I hope this one does too. We need to protect our family and friends from creatures like and Jon. One day they may be living next to you and your small children without your knowledge. If and Jon could be so evil at 10, imagine what they could do as adults? 1. Guest guest
Okay, now I'm possibly putting myself up for flaming here, but i'm just not sure about this. These boys did a truly terrible thing when they were 10 years old. Now they are 17. They have each spent 7 years of their lives in jail...close to half their lives. How long in jail is long enough? Do people want to jail them for their whole lives? This kind of terrible crime is not a one off incident...it happens quite a lot. I think that people found this particuarly terrible because the perpetrators were little boys. Perhaps there is a view of them as monsters heading for a life of this kind of crime. In fact, if they are placed in an adult prison, this is exactly what will happen. Unfortunately, prisons are not only places for epople who've done something wrong to live for a while as punishment....they are places that harden people and act like a teaching ground for crime. Think about yourself at 10 and then at 17...how many of us are the same people at those two times. Think about the things you did wrong when you were 10. They proabbly werent this bad, but now that you have an adult concience and perspective, you would never in a million years dream of doing those things. I am not in any way suggesting that their act was excusable...it wasnt, it was horrible, terrible, I cant even find the words. But when is enough enough? Even though they admitted knowing what they did was wrong....how many kids do things they know are wrong? All of them. Presumably over the last 7 years they have had intensive counselling, and hopefully they now fully understand how wrong they were. Surely this experience has meant that they will never so much as jay walk again? I feel so badly for the parents of the little boy who was murdered. I'm sure that 100 years in prison wont be enough for them. they can never have their son back, and they grieve everyday. But how many more lives must be destroyed? I wont be passing on this petition. I believe that all little children need a second chance. Sorry, I know this is off topic. Love Glenda
Guest guest
While this is a tragic and true story, I am not certain that this multi-forwarded email petition is valid. Even if it is (or was) valid at the time it was created, this kind of email petition more often gets out of hand and continues to circulate long after it is valid. And ready supply of the drugs of your choice, despite all efforts to stop this. What good would it do to lock them up in a prison cell for most of the day and have them slop out several times a day? n prisons are not renown for their plumbing. Yes, there are now newer prisons too, but all are over crowded. Is it really in our (people living in the UK) best interest that these young men learn how to burgle and other dubious talents? >Think about yourself at 10 and then at 17...how many of us are the same people >at those two times. Think about the things you did wrong when you were 10. They >proabbly werent this bad, but now that you have an adult concience and >perspective, you would never in a million years dream of doing those things. Both of them did not fully understand what they did. At that age, who does? Both have had nightmares and have had to learn to live with the fact that they are murderers who, no matter how long, will always be in a form of prison. Yes, they are now in a regime of care in a parole hostel, but they will always be living with their new identities and aware of the risks if they make the slightest mistake in their cover story. >Presumably over the last 7 years they have had intensive counselling, and >hopefully they now fully understand how wrong they were. Surely this experience >has meant that they will never so much as jay walk again? Yes, the have had counselling, schooling (both were regular truants before this), been made aware of what they did, the impact (on all concerned) and much else besides. They are also on life license with numerous conditions. They can be recalled to prison at any time for almost any reason. They will have long term intensive supervision and the parole officers would not be shy to put them away were there cause to do so. >I wont be passing on this petition. I believe that all little children need a >second chance. I agree. What the boys did was a horrible crime and has had a lasting impact of the whole society. However, retribution (by murdering them) will not right the wrong that was done so many years ago. All it would do is cause more pain and heart ache than there has been already. I do not condone 's death, but killing his killers is not the solution. At some point, a criminal has paid for their crime. The courts have decided that this is the case with these young men, with much more information than we will ever hear. They do not always make the right decisions, but they are right more often than not. My heart says that they should be locked up for life, but my head says that this is in no one's best interest. We have to trust that the professionals do their jobs with these young men and that longer term the decision is proven correct. By the way, they are probably already out of their secure council accommodation, so whoever thought that this petition would make a difference is wrong. , rest in peace in His arms. I pray that you and your family will come to terms with what has happened. I also pray for the souls of the two perpetrators. May you learn to live with what you have done, never breaking the trust of those who will supervise you and find some way, however small, to atone for what you have done. -- Fuller Winchester, England HEDS (VEDS overlay), FMS, OA, IBS, lumbar scoliosis, tinnitus, some hearing loss, stomach problems, chronic depression, multiple allergies, asthma....
