Guest guest
Angie, Thanks for sharing your story with us. > Boy did I get a surprise. I usually don't go to the group website. I have the emails sent to my inbox. I was very surprised to see my Jenna! I will try to share Jenna's story. I don't know if I can do as well as the others but here it goes. > > Jenna is my 3rd baby. All 3 of my pregnancies were very difficult. I couldn't keep anything down the entire time of my pregnancies. With Jenna I was the sickest. I was hospitalized 3 times in a 2 week period due to dehydration. After that they wanted to put me on a continuos iv pump(I was 3 months at the time) to battle the naseau. I refused after they wanted me to sign a waiver acknowledging the fact that it was not fda approved in pregnancies. I was hospitalized a few more times throughout the pregnancy. > > Jenna's due date was Jan. 13, 2002. On Dec 26th, 2001(OUr anniversary) I went into labor. The Dr. gave me a pill to stop the labor. I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks(yeah right with 2 other kids age 2 and 5). On New Years eve back to the hospital with pre-labor and dehydration and a severe cold. On a Tuesday(1/8/03) I was admitted to the hospital with phnemoinia. Jenna's heart rate was very rapid they were very concerned. I was running a 104 fever. On 1/10 they did a 3d scan due to concerns for her safety and the amniotic fluid. That night I went into labor. The Bozo Dr. didn't want to induce me or speed up the labor due to me being weak. So from Thursday night until Saturday(Jan.12th) morning I had severe contractions every 5-10 minutes. > > We noticed her mishappen head from birth. We never questioned it until her 6 month appointment. I don't know why. I guess we thought it would correct itself. My oldest was born with the flattest head I have ever seen. She has a wonderfully round head now. > At Jenna's 6 mth appointment we were referred to the specialist. It took almost 3 months to get in. She was diagnosed with moderate to severe plagio with a tilt to the left. At 9 months she received her STARband. In 12 weeks she was estimated at 80% correction. She has rounded more post graduation. We are thrilled with her correction. > > My only regret will be that I didn't find this group or question her headshape at a younger age. I had never heard of plagio. I didn't join this group until right after jenna was banded. > > That picture of Jenna is on her 1st birthday. She graduated 9 days later. > > I want to thank everyone for letting me share her novel(ha ha). I hope and pray for everyone's insurance to come through(ours didn't) and for all your precious baby's to receive wonderful correction! > > Thanks again(sorry for any typos... it is getting late) > > Angie and jenna

Guest guest
I try to get on the computer before everyone gets up, naptime, and after everyone goes to bed. This is why I don't get to respond as much as I would like. There are several others who have as many, more, or kids closer in age than mine. I give them all the respect. I don't know how you guys do it. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Ang and jenna Angie,Thanks for sharing your story. Guest guest
Angie, Wow - what a rough delivery! I can't even imagine how you got through that! I guess it was all worth it though - Jenna is such a beautiful girl. Glad to see her on the front page! :-) You've been such an outstanding asset to this group Angie. Your advice and support to the members here as well as your experience with the STARband is so very valuable. Thanks for all you do! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma > Boy did I get a surprise. Guest guest
Wow, thank you so much! I told I couldn't do it. He just got a big grin and said we don't have a choice. He said this is what you have been waiting for. Our little baby girl. Thanks for the compliment on Jenna. We think she is pretty darn cute but we are a little bias. You guys have just filled me with compliments. This means so much to me. As I have said before, I do not always know the technical advice but I can share Jenna's experience. I want to offer support and encouragement to everyone I can. To everyone going thru and starting their banding journey, the time truly goes by quickly. As I look back at the process knowing what I know now, I would do it all over again. It was definitely worth it. Angie Re: Jenna on the front page Angie,Wow - what a rough delivery!
