Guest guest
--- To Sheri and Sylvia, I am late reading this post. But, i really do know how you feel. I work in a small grocery store/deli/catering business. I have am dealing with alot of pain every day. Just getting out of bed, is a hard thing to do. I use to be able to work a 12+ hr day, but, I can hardly do a 3-4 hr day now. I have hip deteriation in both hips, I had the left one replaced 1 1/2 yrs ago. Now the right one is giving me problems. I had to cut back at work, trying to get disability. That is not working, I have now since lost my health insurance due to my part time hrs. I have been forced, due to my financial issues, to get more hrs. I feel that i will not get disability. I tried getting into a state program for people with disabilities, but, the SS. finds were that the Doc. reports did not prove me to be disabled, even with all the pain I have to deal with. SO, that is very depressing, frustrating. What is a person to do?? Since I am not able to perform my normal duties, I just feel that i am a hinderance to my fellow employees, sometimes they make certain comments. They do not realize what I go thru. I lost a good friend of 18 yrs, because, she thought I was giving up, looking for an easy way out, trying to get disability. But, I could not tell her any different. Sheri, you are very lucky to have that kind of support with your fellow coworkers. I have a feeling that i would not get that from my job. I shuld be using a cane at work, but that is hard to do, with the type of work I have to do. Work is not worth killing urself, but, wht is a person to do, when they have nothing else to fall back on, nor have anyone to support you?? I feel tht the state dept. have has let me down. Good luck to you both!! Thanks for listening!!
