"Ouch!" just doesn't seem sufficient!! There's a woman my Mother knows of, and whose website link Mom has sent me, with quite the "outhouse" pic. This woman, her husband and their two children, moved to Tok, Alaska from Anchorage back in the seventies. They lived in a tent for a good while, as they built their cabin. Tok is not a place I'd opt to live in a tent. Oo a large, oven-hot house, for that matter. LOL Their outhouse was nothing more than a camode on a platform, nothing more. The pic is of the husband sitting on his metal, with non-metal seat, throne. The heavy snowfall blanketing the plants around him blocks the view in strategic places. LOL Challis n Rojas wrote: Lavinia, my mother grew up in Winebego, Minnesota and told wild stories of being frozen to the outhouse seat--seems that one can hardly have won! Cheers! to you, and to all on our list, presumably with modern plumbing, n (unknown) Growing up in hot dusty Oklahoma, when we went to the outhouse we had to go through the chicken yard. That dam rooster always had me buffaloed. I chose chamberpots to the path at night. Love cheap thrills? Enjoy PC-to-Phone calls to 30+ countries for just 2¢/min with Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
