Re: Ok what about a chiropractor?

I would agree, I went to see one for my lower back condition, and I truly

believe that they set back my treatment seriously. However, I have a relative,

who

swears by his chiropractor and goes to see him every so often when his own back

becomes problematic. I however, conversely, would prefer to swear at the one I

met, I was left in

a pool of agony, and shortly after his sessions a new problem became apparent

that wasn't previously documented.

Good luck with whatever path you choose to walk down.

Phil

Hi rowley,

Oh my gosh! Why couldn't he walk? Was he paralyzed or in pain or both? Is

he doing ok now?

Love,

He was in a lot of pain and couldnt even stand up. Our family dr gave

him medicine for the pain - he then went for an mri which showed,

pinched nerves, bulging discs, etc.,etc. Four months later and many

doctors later through physical therapy he can walk. But not like he

used to. I feel that if he had gone to our reg dr instead of a

chiropractor he would not have been in such a mess. But, who knows.

They would have done surgery if he was in pain or was incontinent.

Three times the last few years I have gotten so bad with back pain

and desperate that I went to a chiropractor and three times the next

days after the visit were living hell. Could hardly get out of bed.

Dont rush into this if your not sure. I have been to the point like

you, of what else to do several times.

Thats what I am afraid of. Going to pcp tomorrow and see what he says with all

my tests results so he can read them.

I paid around $400 for four visits for acupuncture and had a bunch of

needles stuck where the pain was not then left in the dark for half an

hour with some new age music. No help but the music was good.

I think acupuncture is like everything else

there are good ones and bad ones ,

what works for one person doesn't work for others.

I have lots of low back pain 24/7 ,

I do acupuncture every other week and for me its

helped in some ways

For the first 3 days(sometimes 4) after a treatment I

can sleep 5 or more hours after that I am back to

sleeping 2-3 hours a night.

5 minutes after the needles are in my back , I do not

feel my back pain until she pulls then out and even

then it is reduced for a few hours before it starts to

build back up.

It doesn't reduce my pain levels all that much other

than the day of treatment but getting those extra

hours of sleep for 3 or 4 days to me is well worth the

$47 a visit costs.

Now I was told going into acupuncture that people with

lower back pain such as mine only see some relief in

about 18% of patients.

I thought that given all the other stuff I have tried

, that those odds were good enough for me to take the

chance.

I was hoping for greater pain reduction but the extra

sleep for me is a God send.

When you see people paying $1500 for shots into the

lower back that may or may not work ,

My payment of $350 for the initial 6 visits I did was

a chance worth taking
