Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear that, . I couldn't find any documented connection between BPD and dementia. However, to me it sounds logical that a person with BPD might develop dementia. In the case of my nada, it doesn't seem like she uses her analytical faculties much at all. She's all emotion. IIRC, it is documented that retirees who do not participate in activities that require thought and analysis are more likely to develop dementia. So basically, one must exercise one's brain functions in order to maintain the neurological connections involved in those functions. Also, BPDs spend so much time creating their own version of reality (and trying to force everyone around them to comply with their version), that I imagine it's a slippery slope to eventual dementia. Anyway, just a few thoughts. qwerty > > My mother's recent eval also shows some dementia.
