Sorry for having a pity party and laying out all my health problems to everyone the other day but it is only because I wasn't feeling well

That's what we are here for or at least one of the reasons. :) I'm glad you found the problem and are treating it now.

Do you have snow yet?? Would it make you feel bad if I told you we had record highs yesterday of 80 degrees? Not to fret - it was only 50 degrees today for a high. :)

Good luck in your tests

tomorrow, . Hope to hear a TGIF from you tomorrow with good

results.

Glad you finally made

your appointments. I finally went to see my doc to-day after feeling

rotten for the last couple of weeks and in his words I have a very

" nasty " bladder infection and he gave me heck for waiting so

long to see him. I know I procrastinate and have to smarten up but I

am so tired of seeing doctors. Need a little kick in the rear once in

awhile. Sorry for having a pity party and laying out all my

health problems to everyone the other day but it is only because I

wasn't feeling well

Have a nice weekend

all.

Aw, Jackie, I'm sorry you're sick! And on top of it to have to deal with that heat. It was hotter where you are than where I am and I'm in AZ. Yeah, *I* know that doesn't have to mean anything, but most people would be shocked. LOL I hope today is far cooler. As for Fried Green Tomatoes... I can be one to pipe in. lol Though I'm not sure if I'm remembering how I do it. I've been trying to remember since I read your email a bit ago and I think I might have it. If not, it's how I fry fish. Or something else entirely. Or bit of many things I do. LMHO BTW, when I do this stuff, I "wear" a wet hand towel around my neck, cuz it's yet another hot chore. lol My Mom taught me to make FGT last summer. Now, I'm sure I forgot how she did it and just went on to wing

it. LOL So, she'll be one of the others who can tell you their way, too. For me... I slice the tomatoes, not too thin and not too thick. Maybe a 1/4 inch for us? (I use the ends, too... never waste! lol). Once sliced, I have my three pie plates with their dippers. First would be plain old flour, tapping off any excess flour. Then into a liquid. I'm pretty sure that's a mix of milk and eggs. I doubt just eggs. Maybe even buttermilk, but I think I only do that with chicken and chicken fried steak. LOL Then to the mix of seasoned flour and cornmeal (about an even mix of flour and cornmeal). (I set them on a platter while I get a pan-full ready, and sprinkle a tad bit of cornmeal on the platter to help keep stickies from being a problem). Then to the hot grease. They turn a nice brown when done and it seems they float. From there they "drain". Anytime I fry something, I have a plate or cookie sheet, with paper towels, then a cooling rack over the top. It allows the crispies to set, not letting it get all soggy and bleh. <gg> That's how I think I do it. LOLOL Sometimes I like a bit of lemon juice or maybe vinegar with mine. Sometimes. Hi Jackie we had so much going on yesterday with all

the mothers day event we forgot to put a tape in to

record it. When we got home the hour special they have

with everyone was all we saw. I was always rooting for

Terry and I was surprise to see he had been beaten in

the competition. I always like watching the last two

get drilled before the last vote to see who had won. I

was always happy Shane did not get that far.

You saw that Hatch is going to prison for 4 years. I

was joking with Judy that the way he liked going Naked

all the time the guys in prison will have fun with

him.

That's how I do it! I also do eggplant the same way. What you want to season them with is totally up to the individual. But, I find that oregano or a little tarragon tastes nice.

Blessed be...

Hi Jackie-

I am so sorry you had such a rough go of it yesterday. That hot in Oregon this time of year?! No wonder you were so miserable. One of the things I hated about Oregon when I live there was the humidity. Silly me...I moved from Oregon to Texas to North Carolina. All of them high humidity states. Well, it will be nice to go to the mid-west.

I'm glad your eye is better. That's one of the reasons why I never wore contact lenses. I can't stand anything in my eye. Just the thought makes me nervous.

Have a nice day! Stay out of the heat if you can. God bless....

My Favorite Eggplant Olive oil in bottom of 13 x 9 baking dish. Then make several layers of diced eggplant, tomatoes (canned diced), lots of basil, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Salt and pepper. Bake at 350 until done and brown/crispy around edges. Yum! Sharon Smyelin groovy wrote: Oh, that sounds good! Funny, I'd not htought of seasoning with anything other than the "usual". So

they are best tart, eh? If my memory serves me right, in the movie: Fried Green

Tomatoes, didn’t they add Tobasco sauce after they were fried?

Hmm,

now I’m going to have to find some green tomatoes!

Fried Green Tomatoes. If the tomatoes are not very tart I soak

the sliced tomatoes in vinegar first. (Sometimes I just want something

really tart so I soak them no matter what). Then I dip them in a seasoned

mixture of egg and milk. Then coat them well in a mixture of flour and

corn meal. And fry. That's all I do. And I do love them!

Aw, Jackie,

I'm sorry you're sick! And on top of it to have to deal with that

heat. It was hotter where you are than where I am and I'm in AZ.

Yeah, *I* know that doesn't have to mean anything, but most people would be

shocked. LOL

I hope today is far cooler.

As for Fried Green Tomatoes... I can be one to pipe

in. lol Though I'm not sure if I'm remembering how I do it.

I've been trying to remember since I read your email a bit ago and

I think I might have it. If not, it's how I fry fish. Or

something else entirely. Or bit of many things I do. LMHO

BTW, when I do this stuff, I " wear " a wet

hand towel around my neck, cuz it's yet another hot chore. lol

My Mom taught me to make FGT last summer. Now,

I'm sure I forgot how she did it and just went on to wing it. LOL

So, she'll be one of the others who can tell you their way, too.

For me... I slice the tomatoes, not too thin and not

too thick. Maybe a 1/4 inch for us? (I use the ends, too... never

waste! lol). Once sliced, I have my three pie plates with their

dippers. First would be plain old flour, tapping off any excess

flour. Then into a liquid. I'm pretty sure that's a mix of milk

and eggs. I doubt just eggs. Maybe even buttermilk, but I think I

That's how I think I do it. LOLOL

Ohhh, this stuff is wonderful! And yet another use for all those tomah'toes coming off the vine! LOL Challis Sharon Marsden wrote: My Favorite Eggplant Olive oil in bottom of 13 x 9 baking dish.
