Guest guest
My daughter just graduated after four months in a passive helmet from Hanger in Fresno. Gavin, the ortho was wonderful and we had no problems. Her head is completely round now. The only problem we cannot correct is the facial asymmetry, which has been caused by her torticolitis. We were completely happy with them and we even traveled for a second opinion to CT in San Diego. They were very nice there and said they wouldn't have done it any differently. I don't write to this list very often because it seems to only promote one product and you are made to feel as if you are doing something wrong if you do not use a DOC band. We had no problems with our insurance, Blue Cross of CAlif., paying 100% of her band. As far as ortho's go, Gavin told us that she was only the third baby he had casted for a helmet, but he had been working in prosthetics for over 20 years. We are so happy with her correction, which was severe to start with. Just because a company doesn't use a DOC band, doesn't mean that they are a bad company. You need to research your options and do what is best for you!
