Guest guest
I would definitely call and ask about the high blood pressure. High blood pressure cannot be imagined and I'm sure that whatever the cause is, the doctor will want to help you lower it. Guest guest
Val,………if your blood pressure doesn’t go down soon, I would go to the ER, and not mess around waiting to see a Dr. whenever. Let us know how you are later. Hugs, Jackie From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of Valene Sent: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 5:54 PM To: MSersLife Subject: Should I be worried? I had my blood pressure taken today, and I'm a little scared. It registered as: 185/108. As you all know, I haven't really been feeling all that well. I was thinking it was because of the Rebif. Could the Rebif be causing the high blood pressure? Or Is the high blood pressure the source of my feeling so poorly. As I've said before, my next appt. with my neuro is May 10th. Should I wait until then to say something to my doctor, or should I call her sooner? I know this is making me sound rather childish, but I never have cared for doctors too much anyway. I just don't like to go. It's a mental thing I know, but I always feel like when I have a physical problem, I'll be mistaken as a hypochondriac. What do you all think? My fiance is worried about this. He can't stand to see anyone sick, especially me. Guest guest
Val, I would definitely encourage you to follow this up. I have a career history in nursing for about 18 years now and most doctors would want you to report that level. At the very least, recheck it for 3 times and record them at different times today so you will have an accurate picture to present. You may be able to nip something else in the bud from happening with quick follow-up.Of course, there are other things they will tell you to do, decrease salt intake, get some rest, decrease stress levels :-) ( yeah, right) Please keep us posted........we will be thinking of you often today! wrote: Val, Same here- I looked up Rebif side effects and didn't see anything about high blood pressure. Here is what I found on if you have high blood pressure - 140/90mmHg is the level of blood pressure used to diagnose high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is consistently raised at these levels and above, it will need to be treated. Treatment may involve making changes to your lifestyle and/or taking medication. This level of 140/90 mmHg is the level for high blood pressure for everyone, whether you are male or female, young or old. At least give the doctor a call to see if you need to come in early. Worry doesn't help - I know what you're saying about feeling like a hypochondriac, I feel like that sometimes too- but it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks- we have to take care of ourselves and we are the only ones that know our bodies. Take care, Should I be worried? I had my blood pressure taken today, and I'm a little scared. It registered as: 185/108. As you all know, I haven't really been feeling all that well.
