Hi everyone

I was amazed to see how many people wrote back and offered me support. Thank

you all.

I did look up Adhesive Arachnoiditis and I can not Believe what I read. I have

suffered from all of the symptoms, and honestly thought I was losing my mind. I

blamed everything on menopause, especially loss of concentration, memory loss,

feeling hot, loss of balance, weight gain, depression. Ooh my god, so many of

them. I did go through the " change " a few years ago, so you can all see why I

thought it was all related.

How do I find out if I really have AA. I did go to a Neuroligist who did an EMG

on me. I was complaining then (2 months before my surgery in December) of

having pain in my lower back, legs, and feet. My test came out abnormal. My

legs seem to be ok, but when she did the test on my spine, she said I really had

an issue, so I went back to my Neuro Surgeon, who then told me I needed a second

fusion. I was in so much pain, that I was having a hard time working.

Sitting at my desk for just 15 min, getting up, then I began to pace, I would

try anything to give me some relief. So again, in December I had it done. I

had to remain flat on my back for days due to the spinal tear.

Last night was so uncomfortable. I have been suffering for insomnia now for

awhile, and was put on Ambiem. It does help me sleep, without feeling out of

it, but last night I wanted to die. I just could not sleep. Pain in my feet,

and legs, then back. No matter how I would turn.

Today I called my Doctor, and he increased my neurontin to 900mg, 3 times a day

to see if that can ease the pain. I just can not describe it. I feel like my

toes are being pulled, my feet burn underneath sometimes. They are cold all the

time, it's just so hard to explain.

Today I went for a walk and walked in the freezing cold for 30 min. (I live in

Rhode Island).

I had lots of energy when I came home and felt good, but now, my legs are

killing me, they are cramped, and my feet feel like someone dropped a heavy rock

on them.

Does all of the make sense to anyone or am I going crazy? I am already on

Cembalta, for depression, and that is surpose to help with people who have pain.

Is this Neurontin going to hurt me? Forgive me for complaining, but I have no

one to talk too.

I am fortunate tho, I do live with a man that still wants to be with me after

all of this. We have been together now for 4 years, and finally now he knows

how I feel, but I worry. He doesn't need this, although he says it makes no

difference. I still do lots of housework, but then I am in so much pain, but I

feel like I have to keep going. I Can't stop or I will crash.

Well everyone, thanks for listening. Now I know I am not alone.

To Cheryl - does it help at all living in Arizona? I did visit there and Loved

it. One Doctor told me that the climate in RI is not good for someone like me.

Please all feel free to email me here or reply directly to me. I promise, I will

try not to complain so much.

Dearest Cheryl Ann:

I am so sorry you hurt so bad. I am so proud that you are trying so

hard to continue with your normal life. Being a florist is hard with

the complications you're having.

I think you are still on a low dose of Neurontin. This is specifally

for nerve pain, it is not ment for other types of pain. Are you on

any thing else to curb your pain? Maybe this is what you need to

check into.

Most of us with a long history are taking several

different types of medications (oral, patch, electric stimulation

etc.)Please take courage. We care about each other. And that means

you, too! Keep us informed of how you're doing.

Your not crazzy. I have simulare feeling in my legs, I hurt bad this morring.

seems like every part of my body is screaming for relef and I just did the chors

I was behind on yesterday and sat up and finshed my book. Nothing major.

Sometimes its feels like my whole body is being pulled all the time with,

tingleing, buring and stabbing sensations. Ever just want to bang your head

agginest the wall out of frustration? Well it would take our minds off our back

or thats what my dad saids to try to make me feel better.

But hey maybe you need epidural shoots. Thats what I am trying to get. maybe it

will work for you. Don't know till you try right? Tack care. Connie H.

FM and CFS can flare up worse after exercise. Don't know if you have

either one of those syndromes?

You feel better immediately after exercise, but a few hours, or even a

day or two, later, the pain comes. It happens to me every single

time I exercise, but I refuse to stop moving.

I was the opposite, everyone ELSE blamed my symptoms on menopause

(peri-menopause, I'm 47). And I said NOOOOO! lol

Hope this helps. I live in central Mass.!

I forgot to say earlier, CherylAnn - You are NOT complaining! You have

every right to vent, ask questions, throw a pity party, whatever you

want here!

This is a support group, and that means we're here to listen and

support each other. It's a safe place to do just what you are doing.

No one will ever accuse you of whining or complaining here.

So don't ever apologize, and don't hold back. We're here to be the

safe place to cry. And the really great thing is that you can provide

that shoulder for someone else here later, when you're feeling

stronger.
