Hello Connie & welcome to our group!

Wow, you've already rec'd some GREAT replies, I'm sorry I'm so late replying to you. I'll agree w/everyone else, that it's best to get a CTscan asap, what good will waiting another month do? You'll just stress yourself out even more with worry & fear. The CTscan is the best way to rule out craniosynostosis, a 3D one. Let me answer your other questions below:

>>Do any of your babies have a ridge with just positional plagiocephaly? It seems that most of the times ridges are only associated with craniosynstosis (spelling?).<<

I have read of other babies in our group with just plagio who have "ridges", my daughter did not, but this has been a question I've seen discussed before in our group on several diff. occasions. >>If it is positional plagiocephaly, I'm assuming it came from before birth (since he was born with a small flat sided head). Does this correct itself? It seems it would be easier for positional plagiocephaly that occured after birth would be easier to correct.<<My daughter's plagio indeed began in utero, her head was noticed stuck in the same position forthe last 10 wks of my pregancy at least, noticed on weekly ultrasounds. MANY cases of plagio begin inutero....Some plagio cases correct themselves, many/most do no unfortunately.

There is info on the DOCband at Cranial techs webpage, www.cranialtech.com The DOCband is a wonderful product that produces amazing results!!! Babies don't mind wearing the band for a minute *most*.

Also check out www.cappskids.org for good cranio & plagio information.

Welcome again, good luck, I hope it is plagio & NOT cranio. Please keep us posted.
