Val,

I do the same thing. It drives me nuts. I will go to defrost something for dinner, then forget, and end up ordering delivery! :( I went shopping a couple nites ago and lost a 3 lb pack of hamburger patties. We searched EVERYWHERE for 30 minutes. I finally found it in the bread box. My DH blamed it on our 9 yr old, but it might have been me. I started to cry. Some days are much better, some days are worse. I also forget how to spell words, and spelling has always been a strong point for me. I can't figure out med dosages anymore, not even simple ones. (used to be in nursing) I feel your pain. Take care, Trista

I am so upset! Seems like I'm starting to lose my mind! I used to be a really good speller. But for some reason, I can't seem to remember how to spell even the simplest words. It's a good thing I have spell check on here. And even with that, I still have problems occasionally. I'm having problems keeping on track also. I can be writing a sentence, then forget what I'm writing before getting to the end of the sentence. It wouldn't be so bad, except the sentences aren't that long! I'm forgetting everything these days. I'll start the wash and forget to put it in the dryer. It will sit there until I happen to think about putting a load in to wash and find that the washer is already full. I put food in the microwave to heat up. If I don't stand there and wait for the food to heat up, I'll forget and it will sit there until I happen to open the microwave door heat something up again.

It is definitely not just you. My sister often does the same thing and I am the one who has been diagnosed withMS not her. I think everyone --me included needs to breath, slow down and take time to smell the roses in the midst of fertilizer. Barb Valene wrote: I am so upset! Seems like I'm starting to lose my mind! Darlene,

If you came to my house you'd think I was crazy for sure. I have multi-colored sticky notes all over! My desk is full of papers with notes for things I'm not supposed to forget. But, what is really strange is, I will put a note on the fridge to remind me to do something. Then guess what? I forget to look at the note! I'll notice it a couple days later. I have missed a lot of appointments because of this. It drives me crazy!

Blessings...Val

Jackie,

Today day seems to be an especially difficult day with the cognitive thing. For the life of me, I can't remember how to spell perscription. (sp). Oh brother. I can't even tell if I'm spelling it wrong! I know I must be because my spell check is saying so.

I do play a lot of word type games with a friend of mine here on the web. We play word racer and literati ( a scrabble game). I also do crossword puzzles. But now, I can see why I'm not finishing many. Tee hee. It's funny that you mention dyslexic moments...It took me a half hour to type this email...I'm constantly having to read and reread and fix the mistakes I have made. If I didn't proofread, would have definatly (sp) looked like a first grader typed it.

Thank you so much for your support and advise....God bless you!

Val, we are just crazy together.. Ha ha Just reading everones responses makes me realize that I am NOT alone in this. I am actually getting some good laugh therapy with everyone cuz I've done the same things. The sticky notes...yep.....then I would forget where I put the freaken sticky note. My hubby got me a spiral notebook...well same thing..couldn't find where it was and a lot of the times it could be right in front of me and I don't see it!!!!! I'll have to ask my hubby, actually I'm gonna give him a call to ask him what I said that we laughed forever on....just a sec..... Ok here it is, I was trying to remember a certain phrase and I mix it up with my own ms lingo....oh my gosh, my hubby said I have so many he isn't sure which one. LOL Oh, I did just do this the other day, since my sensation if off I had NO IDEA. My hubby says "honey what do you have hanging on your robe?" Ha Ha...I look down and I had a shirt tangled up around my waist and didn't even know it. He saw the fabric out of my robe!! I originally started to put the shirt on and decided not to, must of got side tracked and forgot to finish and I then put the robe on. NEVER a dull moment

Thank you so much Akiba!

You know I still had not figured that out! But now that I look at the proper spelling, I can see it. Good grief!

I took a look at your blog spot. I left a comment. I have an acct. There as well. I haven't put anything in it yet. I'm thinking about moving my novel to that spot. It's in 360 now, but I have so many other things going on there right now, my novel just seems to take the backseat.

Again...Thank you and God bless...

Hi Val,……..are

you feeling any better now? I find I need extra rest, or to keep as much stress

out of my life too, to ward off the brain fog. I too will look at a word, and

for the life of me can’t remember how to spell it. I have always been a

good speller. My e-mail program will correct most words as I type, so that

helps a lot! J

That's a good idea Jackie! Except I already know the answer to that. Since his work life is more important than anything else. (Saying that because it's such an ego trip.) He's a lieutenant, so he's head of operations. He is all about customer service and treating (other) people fairly, I'm sure he would show leniency.

It's funny that you mentioned the wanting to stay at home thing. Just today, we were checking on our car that's been in the shop for about a week now. After making a 40 mile trip to find out that the car not only had not been worked on, They actually broke some features in it!! This is a 2006 Ford Taurus with 18,000 miles on it. I was rather upset. We had to leave it at the shop again and it won't be another week before they are able to get to it. On the way home, my fiance decided to give them another call. He was upset also. They asked if he could come back in.

I was wayyyyyy ready to get home, so I asked him if he'd mind going without me. He said okay and dropped me off. When he returned, he let me know how upset he was that I didn't go back with him. He said he really wanted me to go. I explained that I was already under a lot of stress. He then tried to put me on a guilt trip.

It's taking time, but I'm trying to put my health before other people's wants these days. I don't try to be mean. I just feel that I've put other people before me for so long. Now, I'm in need, and my needs are more than other people's wants. I don't want to be a homebody but, I need to take care of myself.

Not looking for sympathy. I just thought it was ironic for you to bring the subject up right after I had experienced it.

God bless...

Bill,

I'm not at menopause yet (I'm 35), but I hear it can be rough for some. I

would certainly NOT stop buying the chocolate! LOL. Hugs, Trista
