Guest guest
Hi Jen Z. I DO understand how you feel regarding your meds. MOST do NOT understand about oxycontin and will freak out if they know you are taking it. Only a few people know, my immediate family and thats all. Even then I feel funny about it but my therapist said only people who are not educated about these drugs feel this way about it. If they KNEW what a blessing it is to us who use it to improve our quality of life and not to get high! I think said it well, to sit your duaghter down and really explain it to her in a calm setting. Maybe she could hear some of OUR stories and how much it has helped us to LIVE! I also " feel " the stigma that has been attached to these meds, and a lot of it is in my own head, in that the medical community is mostly educated to respect this drug and KNOW it is a very useful tool in controlling chronic pain. I hope this helped a little. I helped to remind myself! hang in there. Together we all can get through this.
