Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations on getting a juicer! That is wonderful news. You've probably read Casey's posts on how much juicing helped in recovery. I'm so happy to hear you'll be getting your vegetables. You mentioned that it is very difficult not to binge at night. Proper nutrition goes a long way toward stopping cravings and bingeing. It starts by getting some form of protein at breakfast shortly after waking up. It continues with protein and vegetables at the other two meals. If I skip the protein at breakfast, next thing I know I'm bingeing again. I too had a lot of nausea during withdrawal. I gave up sugar and white flour products a long time ago, so I chose from the remaining foods. I ended up being able to eat broiled or baked salmon, cucumbers, string beans, asparagus, porridge oats, apples, hard boiled eggs, cheese omelettes, plain yogurt. I was also able to eat kasha or buckwheat (a whole grain). These are just examples. Each person has to find what they can eat during nausea, but the important thing is to keep trying and not rely on sugar and white flour products. I had to eat smaller portions and it took a long time to get a meal down, but it was worth it because it kept my strength up and I did not return to the poor eating habits that had caused me to need psych drugs in the first place.
