Hi everyone...

I've got a bone spur in my neck that is pressing on a nerve, and

also arthritis in the same area. The thoughts are that it is due to

a neck injury from a school bus accident way back in high school (a

LONG time ago :-)). The nerve compression also sometimes results in

numbness and tingling down my left arm. I've got good days and

really bad days. On the bad days I just want to lay in bed as it is

the only way to take the pressure off my neck. Unfortunately that

doesn't happen much since I have three kids and a hubby that might

as well be a fourth kid. Consequently I often just suffer in

silence, as I am sure many of you do.

I am under the care of a pain management doctor and I just completed

another round of physical therapy, which doesn't do a thing to help

the ongoing pain. He's got me on Celebrex and Skelaxin when I need

it. Have to watch the NSAIDs though because I've developed some

stomach/acid reflux problems from taking so many over the past few

years. So most times I don't take any meds and just deal with it,

knowing that eventually I will be able to lay down at night to get

some relief:-)

I'm a very active person, but also spend a lot of time in front of

computers for work, which only puts more tension on my neck. By the

end of the work day I am usually ready to go curl up somewhere and

die, but instead I get to run my kids all over the place for their

various activities.

I'm not a complainer, and actually writing all of this is very hard

for me to do as it feels like I am complaining. Sometimes it just

gets hard to deal with day after day, with no one at home really

knowing what I am going through. Hubby is great and supportive, but

can't understand simply because he has never gone through such an

ordeal. I'm sure many of you can relate to that.

Robin
