Guest guest
Challis! I am SO glad to see you posting again. Woo-Hoo! For the newcomers to the group--- I would like to introduce my daughter, Challis. Challis also has MS-type symptoms, but no diagnosis yet. Considering I subbed under this name a bit ago and haven't posted until now, I might need to try a little harder? LOL My CT surgery did go great! We did a Bier Block instead of general anethesia (which I didn't want to do at all lol) and I was awake for the whole procedure. About seven minutes start to finish. LOL And, being endoscopic, it was on a screen. I watched every bit of it. How cool that was! Ya know, that tendon really does look like a stretchy bit of marshmallow cream. LOL I had two PT appointments and the PT said don't come back. lol At my last appointment, PT gave me the squeezy hand exericser, saying "try to do up to 25, stop when you get tired/strained, rest, do another set... three times". He came back to ask how I was doing and I was still on my first set, at 95. LOLOL I have done very well with this surgery. My frist (right hand, many years ago) went very well also. But this has gone even faster with recovery, both post-surgery and ongoing. It's great to feel may hand and not feel pain. LOL I was truly excited the first time I drove and used my left hand to drive, and didn't have to prop my arm on my purse. LOL Also very exciting was the night after my stitches were removed (about a week after surgery) and I slept without a brace for the first time in about seven years. Such a strange feeling. There's a bit more to go until I have full use of my hand without any touch of ache (really very minimal when it does happen), and build my strength in that hand. I'm almost ready to shovel the garden! LOL I'm a big believer in using antibiotics only when absolutely necessary, and always use care when they are used. I had probiotics already in the fridge and used those. Also bought a LOT of yogurt and blended up many flavors. We all ate yogurt for a while. LOL No ill effects from the anitbiotics for any of us. ) Frozen limeade concetrate, in a large tub of yogurt, makes a very good flavor. So does frozen concetrate of apple and raspberries. I bought more, it was so good, and froze the yogurt mix. Fresh strawberries, with or without bananas, blended into a smoothy is always a hit here. ) Okay, enough about yogurt and CTS. LOL I've been trying to catch up, reading mostly recent posts. I don't think I'll ever relaly "catch up". LOL How is everyone doing?? And I am SO glad her CT surgery came off OK and she is healed from that! I'm glad everyone is on the mend, be careful with those antibiotics and check yourself for Candida after, you don't want to get riddled with it like I did, I am fighting to get rid of it! Peace and Blessings ~*~ Akiba ~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://yodamamma.blogspot.com/ -- --NOW: Bill and Challis and families Thanks for asking, Bill. Challis is doing great. She had her carpal tunnel surgery and could be a model for the endoscopic CT surgery method. She had no problems and has healed quickly. The computer problems that kept her from the group seem to be behind her now and she has chucked AOL. Challis has mentioned she might come back to the group soon. I do miss her here, don't you? How's every one at your house? How are the boys? Looking forward to a nice long summer with no school I suppose. This household has finally gotten over the whooping cough. Did I mention that we had whooping cough? I can't remember. Anyway we are better. My daughter-in-law and I were both treated with antibiotics. Challis and her entire family got it from us and they have also successfully been treated with antibiotics.
