It also isn't so great for us in the States (even with good insurance

Mark! :-) ). For a prime example - my husband just called my from a

urologists office an hour away. First off he had to wait almost 2 months to

get this appointment. Specialist, at least here in New Jersey, have a

minimum of a one month wait (not as bad as Canada but wait there's more!)

His appointment was set for 10:30. They gave him wrong directions and

he got lost but still got there at 10:30. The place was so crowded he had no

place to sit. After waiting one hour and seeing only one person go in he

asked the person at the desk how long his wait would be. They proceed to

tell him that there are 10 people in front of him and they will get to him

when they get to him! He finds out through talking with people that 5 others

were scheduled for 10:30!

We may be able to get in to get something done quicker than you but

once we get there it ends up an all day thing! The docs here have no concept

that people have to work for a living. They don't care about your time -

only their own. Docs offices are notorious for scheduling people too close

together, cramming them in to where it's impossible for the doc to stay on

time. The more specialized the doc the worse this seems to be. OB-GYN's for

instance have at least a months wait to get in and you know you will sit in

the waiting room for a few hours (which can be very tough for people like

us).

I've tried calling the docs to see how far behind they are to see if I

should come in later but they put you in the que in the order you arrive so

the longer you wait to go in the longer the que will be.

ARRRRGGGHHH - frustrating. At least my hubby is getting a taste of what

I go through :-)
