Guest guest
, Peggy here from Michigan. I use to live in Florida, about 5 years ago and had the best pain doctor I have ever had since. I am so sorry to hear about all your medical problems and now yet a lump in your breast to boot. I would ask your insurance company or the doctor " gatekeeper " to rush you to have your biopsy done as that is one thing you do not want to wait on. Most hospitals know of support groups in the area and if at all possible please see if you can join them, especially in the area of cancer support, if this is shown after the biopsy. Your insurance, and if your husband's company has insurance, they should have covered you as well. Anyway you can have help in the home, homecare or housekeeping or anything else that you qualify for I am sure your family needs help in this area, especially with all that you are going through. Please reach out to others for strength and support as often as you can. There is also a lot of good information on the web; see American Pain Foundation, American Chronic Pain, Doctors for Pain, National Society for the Treatment of Pain, M.D. Cancer for pain information as well as Harvard or any other top hospitals. I am sure Shands in Florida may even have a site with information on it as well. I worked at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach and had injured my back when I was 16. It was a horse injury as my horse once fell on my left side and then rolled right over it, breaking quite a few bones on the left and was in the hospital for 6 months. Then after that, about 1 year later this same horse reared up and fell over on top of me. Having survived all that, then went into nursing which is a nightmare on your back as any nurse will tell you, especially working nights. You are also going to have some periods of depression, as we all have from time to time, so do not be afraid to ask for help if it gets to be too much for you. Pain is constant and continual and does wear us down. We are allowed to get all the help we may need to get us through. Take each day as it comes, and if that is too overwhelming, then take each minute, or hour, however best you can handle it. Be good to yourself and remember you are a very important person dispite you afflictions. Anyway sweetie, there is a lot of information out there so ask questions and do some research when you feel up to it. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
