Guest guest
Hello. I use talk notes med. I like it. It catches about 95% of my voice correctly, and my notes are done in 2 minutes each, evals take about 5. There is a learning curve to be sure, but I was dictating notes long before use of TalkNotesMed. If all you are looking at is a voice recognition software, it uses IBM ViaVoice, which can be had for a few hundred bucks. You will then ask why the cost of TalkNotesMed is closer to the cost of a car, and that is all the other things it does. It makes a digital chart. It automatically uploads your patient list from most scheduling software products, so there is NO dual data entry. You can set up templates and formats that make things even quicker. The fax server works fair. We need a dedicated phone line to send faxes as soon as the note or eval is proof read. There are problems with it: it only helps with daily notes. If there is a non-treatment note, you have to add the patient to the schedule to dictate (such as as a phone discharge). It does not lend itself conveniently to forms (such as those used to certify for medicare). I am glad to talk offline or directly about this topic, and you ought to look into the archives for the prior discussions. There have been at least 2.
