Hi,

I agree on when vicodin works well or not. I was getting so concerned about

taking it that I hold off until I can't stand it and then I will take one and

it doesn't seem to work as well relieving the pain.

As far as a high - I don't know what that is. Sometimes when I take a pill,

I feel more tolerant and energetic. I thought it was because the edge has

been taken off the pain and I felt relief.

I used to get more talkative, but I thought it was because I felt better also.

Is that the " buzz " feeling that you get? If it is, it certainly is better

than pain.

I am concerned about taking too many. I have a prescription for 3 a day. What is

considered too many?

I also get cervical epidural, occipital and trigger point injections.

I had a spine stimulator trial but it didn't give me as much relief as

required to get it permanently implanted.

I was on prednisone, but have been weened from that, but think I need to go

back on it.

I'm not sure where I'm headed, I really don't want anymore surgery - my

cervical spine is totally fused and plated.

Hi,

I've noticed that if I wait to take the Vicoden until I am in severe pain then

it does not work as well. It needs to be in your system BEFORE the pain gets

really bad to help. Also, getting a " buzz " might depend on what and how much you

have eaten that day or how tired you are, etc. There could be a lot of factors.

I never get a buzz off of it myself.

You could be right. I get a buzz if I take it on an empty stomach, but it also

works better as a pain reliever on an empty stomach.

I don't ususally wait until things are really bad, but once in awhile they get

bad in spite of anything I do, and thats when the vics don't work.

Too many is more than your doc prescribes. If he prescribes 3/day and you need

more then you should talk to him before taking more than that.

In my case, I'm allowed 6/day. But thats because they each have 650mg tylenol,

and the max dose of tylenol/day is 4000mg.
