Guest guest
, For some reason I never received this post. I did get several opinions regarding the cervical region. They first thought I had MS and did a brain scan. One of the NS noted a spot on the brain but said it was inconclusive?? Scarey! I also have FM. It was the third NS that I went to that repaired the cervical area. They first put me through all the conventional therapy which was o.k. until the therapist placed me in neck traction. Well that was it! The pain got so severe also had major migraines my neck never stopped hurting after. The NS did a second MRI at which time they identified hernation at c5- c6 it wasn't until they began the surgery they found additional damage. So the answer to your question is I really didn't shop around. I merely obtaining opinions from several different NS's. It was the third that did the surgery. The first didn't believe anything was wrong and sent me on my way,the second said he wouldn't perform surgery because I smoked and the last is the one that put me through PT and during PT is when they placed me in traction. When the traction caused more pain I suppose that was a pretty good indicator of disc drying up finally the last MRI showed the result of the traction > > Hi Pud, > > I have a work related injury and now have C3-C4-C5-C6 that are torn > competely, when i went to the Neuro Dr he absolutely refused to operate > on me saying " i have too much damage and that C3 was too high up " > > So my question is, did you have to " shop " around for a Neuro that would > do your fusion on your neck? Guest guest
Nichole, I just had an MRI with a spot on it also and the doctor said it was aging you just start to worry when the spots line up and get bigger. They also found a c-5,c-6 herniation with impingement on the nerve root. It was also on a MRI brain scan I had a year ago but the radiologist didn't pick up on it because it was primarily a scan. I had troubling swallowing, ataxia, disorientation, tremors. I thought I might have MS also. I also found out I had a b12 deficiency which also is indicative of MS, I have fibromyalgia and the three level lumbar fusion and Sacral Iliac injury. So I have an appointment with the endocrinologist and they say wait and watch the herniation on the C-Spine. I still think you and I should watch the MS symptoms. I also have spascity in my muscles. I am so curious about what is going in my body. Also, high cholesterol is a signal of MS also. Bennie > , > > For some reason I never received this post.
