Guest guest
You have to become a 'threat to HER perfect motherhood' to get presents, lol. You are apparently not working hard enough to be 'the bad child', haha. Hugs, Carol In a message dated 12/18/2007 9:43:51 P.M. It was in my name, she let me turn it in, and she gave me her computer, but I couldn't have it until she moved to Florida which eneded up being 8 months later (I had to throw the computer away it was such a piece of crap) What is up with that, do I have to go NC to get presents. Guest guest
Sorry L. so sad for you....... These " presents " that I am sending back are only for show, and to make me feel horrible for NC. She is hoping that I will open them in front of my children, husband, my sister, brother, and her ex (my father). In hopes that everyone will think I am a selfish brat, and a bad, little girl. My nada is normally not a giver, she only gives for Birtday's and Christmas's. Not just because, or because she thought it would be nice for me to have, nooooo, its just for show, or used as a tool, or a weapon, or to keep me in the " FOG " . Although she likes to buy me things......and then makes me pay for them, NO KIDDING!!! " I saw this and thought you might like it, oh and, I paid 22.95 for it " ......Ok nada, will you take check, cash or a credit card????? What a hag!!! drlingirl > > Hi everyone, I keep seeing that everyone needs to turn away presents and I haven't gotten a > present for anything since my 25th birthday, which was 7 years ago. Guest guest
drlingirl, When your mother says she found this and thought you might like it, and it's $22.95 -- why can't you just say, 'No, thanks, I'll pass' and then let her figure out what to do with it? Guest guest
Oh I know I have been wrong to enable this behavior with her. She second hand shops everyday, and from time to time, finds some neat stuff.......she found a side table that had great potential, with some sanding and paint. If I wanted it....I had to pay for it, otherwise she would re-sell it. She shops, and hoards, everyday, and I should never have encouraged this by paying for these things. It only gives her more money to go and shop some more. One time I bought a recliner from her and paid 75 dollars for it.....then I found out she only paid 50 for it......I called her out on it, and she said, " well how do you expect me to make any money to buy other stuff " ??? She is a truly sick person, and it only takes one look at her over stuff/cluttered house to see that. Money is a true issue with her as well.....she offered my husband and I a loan once.....but wanted to write up a contract and she also wanted interest paid. She is a miser to the fullest!!! I expect to be taken out of the WILL the longer I go NC. What really hurts is that she gives, gives, gives, to my sister......and yet expects me to pay, pay, pay!!! Story of my life!!! drlingirl > > > > Hi everyone, I keep seeing that everyone needs to turn away > presents and I haven't gotten a > > present for anything since my 25th birthday, which was 7 years > ago. Guest guest
Thanks for the chuckle, I have been really bad so maybe I'll get a belated Hanukkah gift??? Tonight was great, she lives in FL, and keeps asking me to come visit. It took me 2 months to recover from the last visit. I keep telling her no, tonight she said, you are coming to visit, you are coming in January. I said no I am not She said yes you are I said are you freakin kidding me, last I checked I decide were I go She said, you aren't working right now ( I am out on disability for a thyroid issue) so you should come visit. I told her unless she plans on coming up to PA and dragging me by the hair down to FL I wasn't coming down. She is worse than a 2 year old. Guest guest
I am sure this is painful for you. I can see why it would be, when your mother doesn't even bother with the pleasantries of trying to " look " like she's being nice to you. However, I tend to think that those here whose nadas don't call them much, or give them much, or see them much, are in a better position than those of us whose nadas wish to consume them. Hope this is some consolation for you... -Deanna > > Hi everyone, I keep seeing that everyone needs to turn away presents and I haven't gotten a > present for anything since my 25th birthday, which was 7 years ago. Guest guest
I like what you said Deanna. I believe it would be much easier if my Nada would just leave me alone. Instead she is either pouting to my father about how she's committed the unpardonable sin with me or she's trying to consume me she doesn't have a healthy middle ground. Guest guest
I’ve always been a treat to her getting the (anti)mother-of-the-century award. No wonder I’m NC.
