HCL Is very safe. There is scare information out there for all supplements.

They don't want you to help yourself.

Carolyn

Ph Paper is difficult to find but easy way to test yourself, but all your

syptoms indicate a need for HCL & enzymes. Now brand Super Enzymes is nice

formula with both. Or you can find brands and use separately. Apple Cider

Vinegar is a standby, can be taken in a little water and/or added to your food.

Gotu kola or gotu cola, botanical name Centella Asiatica.

It grows in South Africa, is used there as a tonic, to lower blood

pressure, and as a diuretic - but I am no herbalist - I don't know

enough to comment on other uses such as digestive.

Are you sure you are not confusing it with Hawthorn berry?

(Crataegus Oxyacantha)

Hawthorn berry is said to help in digestion of meat.

It is also a heart remedy par excellence - this one I do know quite well.

I agree. I used to dilute my own HCl from the concentrated stuff in the

lab where I worked ( " not something to do at home " !!!). Liquid style is

bad for the teeth though - hopefully there are solid supplements that

make more sense so you do not have to take it through a straw :-)

People unused to meat all their life need both HCl and digestive

enzymes, and may I suggest a SLOW introduction of any new protein. If

you upset your gut surfaces and irritate them, you can inadvertently get

undigested protein into the bloodstream and that can trigger allergies.

So just eat a little at a time and increase gradually - your system will

get the message and adapt. Expect your system, to take 2 to 4 weeks to

" learn " a new protein that you want to eat in enough quantity to be a

significant protein source. (All foods have traces of proteins - but

adding meat is a LOT of protein.)

So eat only a teaspoon of it first day - and build up slowly, is my

suggestion. If you are allergic type as I am - when I added in brewer's

yeast protein to my diet after never eating it before - I added 1/4

teaspoon to each meal for a week, then 1/2 teaspoon the next week etc

till I could use 2 tablespoons at a meal.

B vitamin supplements - they are building blocks for digestive enzymes.

Once again thank you for your help, after Irene's note, I see I have been

eating far too much protein way too soon and expecting too much from my

system. I shall try and re-introduce meat again as Irene suggested.

Thanks but I do take Deflect and a load of other stuff too!!!

Best wishes to you all and thanks again.

1-2 TB as needed. I would sprinkle some on my food and then take 1 TB in 1/4 c

water after eating if I needed more.

Dear ,

Yes, you can take Betaine Hydrochloric Acid with pepsin. I don't

know the milligrams, etc. but I think someone else posted more info

on this just now - see Carol's message on HCL.

Hi Del,

The digestive enzymes I've been using also include betaine HCL. I think

it's a good idea to have that included.

Dear Del,

It looks okay to me, but Natural Factors also contains ox bile and

HCl, which is a precursor to pepsin which is the most important

digestive juice in the stomach. Was Natural Factors not okay for

you - it is powdered in a capsule.

I understand that you have done such great research, and I want to take this

time to tell you my appreciation for all the hard work you have done. I don't

know if it matters, but I think, you have earned your wings everyday you give so

much of yourself to help not only me, but the thousands that you have touched,

and the thousands more who have not come yet. A giant hug for you Bee.

Now if I could ask you, if I can make a couple of assumptions, you want to

starve out the candida, while building the immune system. Is this correct?

Would you agree with the premise that recently has been mentioned that candida

overgrowth may be of a deficient immune system? (Perhaps caused by poor diet,

and viral, micoplasma, and the million other reasons that our immune systems are

deficient?

Which has me thinking that would there be at some point, as an example, eating

an apple, to get the benefits of the nutrients to feed the immune system, vs

starving the candida and doing out the certain nutrient rich foods?

Just curious to your thought on this.

Thank you so much for being BEE!

==>No. The reason is explained in my article. You can get enough

Vit. C from meats and veggies so you don't need an apple nor any

fruit to inhance or support the immune system. Even healthy people

shouldn't eat much fruit - maybe one serving per day is okay if taken

along with good fats, and not alone, to slow release of the fructose

into the blood stream.

The best,

Bee

Hi Holly,

I'm a cancer patient. After 6 years I no longer take the three

parasite herbs every day, but I do continue to take digestive enzymes

every day.

They are great for digestion in general, for eating up dead parasites

as you mention and also for digesting other guck.

Some of the best reputed alternative cancer therapies outside of Dr.

's program (/ and Gerson), use digestive enzymes as

one of their primary therapies...like most others they are entirely

unaware of the parasite link.

I consider taking digestive enzymes to be a must for all but those with

the most robust health...but particularly when killing parasites and

for a long time afterwards.

I have suggested Culturell (lactobacillus supplemnent) http://www.culturelle.com/index.jsp for one of my pts, He was on a very long dose of antibiotics. I am not sure if it helped but it didnt seem to harm him at all. Have you drawn a thiamin lab? I have heard form several pts that water does not agree with them. I suggested they try adding some thickner to it, should be able to get some from a local pharmacy. Only one has gotten back with me but they said it did help. I have no idea why it would help but it is worth a try. I suggested they make it nectar thick and preferably at room temp or only slightly cool. Hope it helps. Both products I have here have Pepsin. I think you were concerned I

per day to a maximum of 30,000 IUs per day. Maybe get halibut liver

oil capsules which will contain 10,000 IUs of vitamin A with 400 IUs

I remember discussing this topic years ago. Digestive enzymes are also

known and marketed as " meat tenderizer. " They must be safe enough for

most people to be used, in this way, with food. Enzymes are destroyed

(unfolded) by heat, so that use may not be very relevant. I have a

friend that choked, (not from achalasia), on a piece of apple. He was

rushed to the ER where they dripped " meat tenderizer " onto the apple. It

didn't take long and the apple softened up and he was able to finish

swallowing it. Again, the meat tenderizer was safe enough for this use.

You don't get that kind of treatment every day though, so again it may

not be very relevant. If you look up information on GERD you will find

that it is the acid and digestive enzymes of the stomach that cause

damage to the esophagus. This implies that, at least at some level of

use, frequent exposure of the esophagus to digestive enzymes could be

damaging to the esophagus. If one has acid, from something like

fermenting food, in the esophagus and takes digestive enzymes, it could

be like GERD. Most people who use them for health reason probably don't

have problems, like achalasia, that cause the enzymes to stay in the

esophagus. Some of the " digestive enzymes " people take are herbal. I

don't know if any of them contain enzymes actually found in the stomach

or not. I have not checked. It would not surprise me if some of those

products do not actually contain enzymes but are instead suppose to aid

your body in the production or use of enzymes, or simply help in

digestion " like " an enzyme. Some products will be a mix of herbs and

probably are intended to help digestion in a number of ways.

Anyway, I can't find any information on what level of use these products

would be safe or unsafe with achalasia. If anyone has information about

it relevant to achalasia I would be interested in seeing it.

Hi! The reason I started taking digestive enzymes is because I have

slow digestion and felt VERY full after eating a small meal. Dr

Richter originally prescribed Reglan for me. I didn't like the side

effects. He was thinking that if I was having more trouble

swallowing meals in the evening that maybe the food was just piling

up. Really all I did to help myself was eat smaller meals. The

digestive enzyme just helps me to not feel so bloated and gurgly

when I'm trying to go to bed.

Hope that helped in some way.
