Guest guest
It is really important that you find someone who recognizes fibro and chronic pain. I went through several before I found a nurse practitioner who not only recognizes it (he aunt suffers from it), has prescribed a sleep aid (for the chronic fatigue), and an anti depressant (Cymbalta-which not only addresses the depression but the pain, too). She referred me for psychotherapy for the bouts of depression and recently sent me for CranioSacral therapy for the pain management. I have finally gotten a glimpse of sunlight within this diagnosis of fibro. Lawson
Guest guest
My dr told me I got Fibro from all the years of chronic pain I've had. He does give medicine for it as well. the newest thing they gave me is a cream that has baclofen flexeril Keto and lidoderm in it. It works fairly well just doesn't last long enough. Margaret, I had to Google the diagnosis to see what it was! I found an interesting page that shows what happens: http://www.spine-health.com/dir/spondy.html It hurts to look at it! I have degenerative disc disease -- a narrowing of the disc -- which caused sciatica and lower back pain. I had an epidural a few months ago and the sciatica has not returned. However, because of lower back pain, the ortho did another epidural with flourescope to deliver the meds right around the disc. It seems to have helped some. I hope you get some relief. There are so many treatments out there. Take care! Sue
