i have a bunch of spinal tumors, some that have been there for years....ive

also had a bunch of surgeries to remove some of them

i have MRI's every 6 months of both head and spine, the doc seems to monitor

them and if theyre not causing problems just leaves them, but we do watch

them closely to see if they get bigger or whatever

one tumor they found a while back, i dont even remember when, they were very

definate that they couldnt remove it for its in the spinal cord, i searched

out other options but decided to just push it in the back of my mind and not

deal with it....now my hands are getting weaker and weaker (i cant even open

things on my own any more and pats kitchen floor got a pot full of noodles

dropped on it the other day!)

anyway the tumor is causing problems and its time to take it out, surgery is

soon and the outcome i hope will be positive

Jimmy, I would suggest a second opinion or to seek out another doctor, but if

you really like your doctor, thats another story. I love my doctor and have

had him for over 10 years and only trust his judgement and his hands for

surgeries.

caren ~ who kinda babbled on and on there, sorry if it doesnt make sense

Hi Crew

I dont have any experience with spinal tumors(although I do have 1 or more),so I

need to ask a question Ok,first off, here is what's going on.I have had minor

pain in my right leg for over a year,I've told my neuro about it and he says

" can you live with this pain " (yes), " then don't worry about it " .I'm in no hurry

to have spinal surgery,so I took his advice. The level of pain hasn't changed, but

it has spread further down the leg,I had my annual mri Monday, this is the third

apointment I've had since mentioning my leg,My neuro did not even have my spine

scanned nor ask me about my leg.My homecare nurse was with me,she sees me limp

or grab my leg once in awhile, she could not believe him.I told her " he knows

about it,what can I do " She wants me to dump him(can't tell you her exact

words:-).I was just wondering if any Crew member could tell me When is it time

to get a spinal tumor out?All I have is bearable pain, should I look into surgery

or " live with it " I mean, hey I'll live with it,but the nurse NOT THE DR says I'll

have a better chance at " no permanent damage if I fix it now.Anybody with

personal experience have advice?

Even if the doc dont want to take it out they should still be monitering it

(regular MRI's of the spine). I say dump him too.
