Bad news

I done feel too bad right now except that i can't eat and if I do

manage to get something down it usually comes right back up ... not to

mention the chronic fatigue, so if either of those get better with dialysis

it'll be worth it,

I guess I was just expecting more time, I was just diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago

.... anyway: I will dialyze at the FMC clinic on La Sierra in Riverside- I

have Kaiser so I'm not sure if this is a Kaiser clinic or if everyone goes

there???

Thanks to everyone for the input I WILL keep everyone updated on how it goes,

I have to bring someone with me for the first 3 treatments because they say I

may feel pretty bad and shouldn't drive, my husband is going with me tomorrow

and my Dad on Sat. I'll let everyone know as soon as I feel up to typing )

Kirk,

I looked into the option of PD but because of various abdominal

surgeries that is not an option for me, the scar tissue is too extensive,

from emerg c-sections with my son etc. Thanks for the input

Mia,

The nausea and vomitting are typical signs of being highly uremic. The dialysis

should definately correct that. You should find your appetite coming back and no

more nausea. Same goes for the fatigue. If you're anemic (which also adds to

fatigue), they will give you Epogen that will bring your hematocrit up to around

36. I think that within a week or so, you will feel much, much better.

Sorry to hear this news, but hopefully some of the wonderful replies

from the guys who are on dialysis who have replied to you, have helped

you a little.

I hope everything goes well for you Mia, and we look forward to hearing

from you, when you are up to it of course.

Not so serious a reminder from me everyone that from Sunday pm I shall

be offline for a few days as I am having surgery for a small blockage

around my right kidney. Will post as soon as I am back on my feet.

Spookily it is not the surgery that makes me feel so rotten, it is the

anaesthetic, I never seem to do well on it. Will be in touch ok.

bad news

Hello everyone ... bad news for me today- I got the rest of my lab

results

back and it looks as if my kidney function is down to 10%... so I will

now be

starting dialysis on Friday. I go Friday & Saturday then start on my

regular

schedule of Tues. Thurs. & Sat... I am NOT looking forward to this at

all! I

am worried about how I will feel, if it'll make me feel sicker, etc.,

any

input from those with experience would be greatly appreciated!!!

As some of you know, Katherina my 2 1/2 year old fell from a kitchen

chair last Saturday. Well, she was taking to a hospital with my

husband and his sister and they so called checked her out and said

nothing was broken. Well, after constantly complaining, I had had

enough and took her to the pediatrician today. Well, the doctor

felt around her collar bone and shoulder and said it is broken, and

we had to do an xray of it and for me to come back after she was

xrayed to see how it was broken and what we were going to do about

it. My husband was not with me, but his father was, so, trying to

tell him Katherina needed to be xrayed in German and went over to

get it done. Well, the bad news is, her collar bone is broken. No,

not fractured, broken. Well, I took her back over to the

pediatrican. Thank God, it was just up the road and back, so, we

did not go far. He was going to set her bone back, I think, but the

thing he had was too big for her, so, he told me that since she was

2 1/2, hopefully her bone would grow back to the right way, but she

has to go back on the 17th of December for him to check her out

again and see how it is going. I am so upset that I am spitting

nails. I just can not understand this. How can this happen?? This

is my child. My flesh and blood here and here I am trying to do

right by her and I think I go two steps forward and three steps

back. Do you know what I mean? Anyway, he told me not to do

anything with her left side, this is the side that is broken. Not

to pull her arm, not to let her sleep on that left side. And I just

said, yeah, right. This is only a baby, how can you not stop her

from doing these things?? And just how am I suppose to get her

dressed?? Anyway, I just wanted to come in here and tell you guys

this. I am going no mail for awhile. I am also having medical

problems and I need to decide on who is telling me the truth and who

is lying to me. My husband just does not seem to understand, that I

know what I have and the doctors in the states told me what I had

and I get here and I am being told something different??? And he

says, why do you not listen to them and I said because this is what

they told me in the states, and I know this is what I have and they

are the ones that do not know what I have and want to treat me for

it. I just can not get him to see that. So, anyway. I am going no

mail for awhile and if any of you would like to email me, my email

going to be coming to the group for awhile until I figure out what I
